i come from a long line of really devoted Catholics well at least on my mom side i had already gone to catholic school and when i told them straight forward that god did not exist she freaked out had ppl come talk to me took me to church and what not i simple kept using reason and history to prove them wrong and defined my belief which is a right we all have after 5 years now she is ok with my ideology
I can honestly say that coming out to my parents that I was an atheist was the hardest thing I ever did. However, with time, they came to accept the fact that I do not believe in god. It helped that my parents are not super religious or anything. But I know that there are those whom may have a more difficult time coming out to your parents.
For them I say:
Take your time and come out when you are ready.
Have evidence, fact, etc. ready in mind to defend your position.
I don't like this video. Just because someone prays several times a day, or is a member of church, or is heavily religious doesn't mean that person is close minded, and just because someone doesn't attend church and pray doesn't mean that they're more willing to accept other religions. IM 22, I just told my parents and I didn't realize that it was the bravest and hardest thing I've done. I thought i was speaking my mind and i ended it up regretting the whole conversation. If you know who you are, where you stand, and where you are going, then you will never have the need to be accepted. You don't have to argue or tell someone, or defend your beliefs. I love my family and still go to church with them. But, the rituals doesn't bother me anymore. I am there for my family and not for the god they believe in. I started discovering the truth about religions when I decided to educate myself with science and reason. Then god slowly disappears.
as a catholic, i just say that the bible is composed just by stories..they are really just storyes selected by a bishop 400 years after the death of Christ. From the book you interprate it's storyes, nothing more to it.
i do not defend many of the church positions, and i really don't like preasts or the preaching, but i belive in a God.I respect all religion belivers and non belivers, and have all kind of friends. the trick to be accepted is mutual respect, and this goes for everyone.

There could also be other reasons to this law of death penalty so that ppl reflect upon the sensitivity and seriousness. If you know who you are, where you stand, and where you are going, then you will never have the need to be accepted. You don't have to argue or tell someone, or defend your beliefs. I love my family and still go to church with them. But, the rituals doesn't bother me anymore. I am there for my family and not for the god they believe in. I started discovering the truth about religions when I decided to educate myself with science and reason. Then god slowly disappears.

as a catholic, i just say that the bible is composed just by stories..they are really just storyes selected by a bishop 400 years after the death of Christ. From the book you interprate it's storyes, nothing more to it.
i do not defend many of the church positions, and i really don't like preasts or the preaching, but i belive in a God.I respect all religion belivers and non belivers, and have all kind of friends. the trick to be accepted is mutual respect, and this goes for everyone.
