I gotta say it. If today's country music stations would play this one song, then it's over. The CD's would fly off the shelves of the stores in America and the rest of the world. Pure C/W
Undo the Right, Each Time, Warmth of the Wine, and many more....these Johnny Bush renditions are the HEART and SOUL of our Texas Country Music. A Texas dance floor, later in the evening, two stepping with my sweetheart.....is where I want to be ALL the time. A BIG THANKS to You...kbddd !!!!
I've known Johnny Bush for 40 years. He is the king of the honky tonk singers, real barroom dancing music moved by his wonderful voice. Happy 75th Birthday, my friend! Check out my current bio of George Strait called KING GEORGE on amazon or STRATIBOOK website where I dedicate the book to Johnny.

The real thing! It's all there. Great song, Willie. Great singing Johnny. Fantastic arrangement. Awesome. ... To most of you modern country musicians, sorry. Listen to Johnny Bush and the band on this cut.
@Mischief2311 Johhny Bush sang harmony with Ray Price for a bunch of legendary songs. Hey nashville--to bad your not playing GOOD country music anymore instead of all that bubble gum country. To listen to GOOD country you have to go to RFD TV or you tube,Love that TRADITIONAL country music.
@Mischief2311 And MrMiamiboy, we all know there isn't anyone better than Ray Price, you are right Nashville knows nothing about GOOD country music, these days it's a cross between pop and rock, oh well these times they are a changing. Have a great day.
Where can I buy Johnny Bush's 1960s recordings on CD? All I have are his modern albums on CD. Feel free to message me if you know where I can purchase official CDs. Thanks, Hector
Johnny Bush is the best damn Texas honky tonk singer ever. Period. He made a special trip to see my uncle who was dying of cancer and brought some joy to a sad time.
I recall many happy hours spent in Bush's bus behind Dancetown USA in the late seventies...what a great performer...the first major artist to appear on my TV series, Number One West and the headliner every year at the Dallas Steel Show. May he long reign as the King of Texas Honky-Tonk Music!
Knowing Johnny Bush personally, I have to say that this is Johnny at his GREATEST!! Once you listen to this song and hhis other great hits, you will ocme to understand why he is referred to as the "Caruso" of Country Music. Johnny Bush IS a true Legend!
" I had always assumed that Willie wrote the song. "
Yeah, and *I* always figured that Willie MESSED it up bigtime. However, Bush made a LOT more money off of Willie's performances of it than he did from his own performances of it. BTW, Willie also played for Ray Price, bass guitar, I think.
You'd assume it was Willie's writing because he adapted it to his own style so completely. In THIS case, I don't think that worked out well.
My band backed him in San Angelo, at a bar called Blaines Pub around 2001. He was a freaking blast to work with... He used to be the original drummer with Ray Price's Cherokee Cowboys. He actually kicked our drummer off his drums at the end of the gig, and just sat back there playing drums while we did three or four cover tunes, and some western swing. lol. Lot of fun.
Love this TEXAS DANCE HALL MUSIC. no substitution for this great COUNTRY MUSIC.

In the late 60's I saw Johnny playing drums for Willie at the Junction race track.
Willie had a flat top hair cut and black patent boots on. Willie signed an 8 track tape for me.
These fellows have given me 45+ years of wonderful music.
I never understood why Johnny never was a famous as some of the other stars of those days.
They will forever be my favorites!
