  • Love this one . The postcards of the pier are great. Nice to see what it looked like.

  • Love this! Excellent version, thanks!

  • My grandfather is second from the right in the picture of the band. I have several acoustic recordings, but this is the first electric I've heard. Thanks so much.

  • Wow, it's great when I get contacted from relatives of these band members. I am glad to bring this great recording to you. I know they recorded several electricals. I believe another one is posted on here. Thanks for stopping in!

  • Beautiful!

  • This is the only electric I have found from them so far. Everything else I have is acoustic.

  • Beautiful!

  • R. Crumb--the cartoonist and old jazz aficionado--says that this is the record that "thrilled me to the core of my being" when he first heard it as a teenager, and that hooked him on that kind of music. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Always my pleasure to bring these great old songs back for everyone.

  • ive got loads of R. crumb's works, i searched this because I just finished reading his article on music in the 1920's-30's. great stuff, though lke R.Crumb himself I've only really heard this type of thing in movies so far. reminds me... im off to find a dear film i loved as a child called 'its a wonderful life'. or atleast thats what i think its called. take carex

    Best Regards

  • VERY NICE....

  • Another great one pax!

  • thanks laugh

  • Thx for the perky posting, and phabulous postcards. It brings life to the eastern shore, helping this western girl visualize how it must have been back then! 5*

  • My pleasure as always.

  • Some of the best bands of the l920's were in NY.....

  • I would agree with that. This band really did have a nice sound to it.

  • I love this perky number. I feel like I am in Atlantic City at that Million Dollar Pier.

I want those Happy Days, but I don't want Lonely Nights.:) That pier is still there but it does not look like it did in the lovely postcard. Thank you Pax41, this was great.

  • I have never been there but I saw recent pics of the pier. It looks like they did some major changes to it around 2006.

As for those Lonely Nights, I am sure you have no problem with that:)

  • Boop-boop-be-do!

    :)

  • Quite a lively tune isn't it.

  • What a coincidence you uploaded the same unknown orchestra as I did yesterday! This even is an excellent electric recording.

  • I had recorded this but had not posted it. I put this on since I saw you had done yours. There is another one by this band on here by Merrihew.

  • I thought it might be interesting to post a totally forgotten orchestra; thanks for uploading yours!
