  • wow wow.. i'm amazing it. thank god.

  • Hi Hand On,

I got it from your webpage.. no problem.. it is a wonderful episode and Cyril is truly inspiration to me. I have no problem with no sound but like for my hearing friends and family to hear as they do not know sign language.. So luckily I was persistent to find the one with sound. smile thank you thank you for responding this.

  • Why doesn't this program have voice???

  • @CookieToddo Sorry, due to agreements with our television broadcaster we can't include sound on YouTube. There is a sound version on the RTE website but I am not sure if it is available in your country. Thanks for watching : )

  • @CookieToddo Thank you

  • Thank you Hand On for doing this story.. wonderful and very inspiring ....

  • I thank God for giving you the strength and courage to do the things you have done. God Bless you, Fr. Axelrod

  • I am not religious at all and struggle with the whole idea of "faith." However, this story was inspiring even to me. I do believe in the human spirit and the ability of people to overcome problems and be productive in the world. Fr. Axelrod is the epitome of that idea. Thanks for telling this story.

  • Father Axelrod is surely one great pillars of the International Deaf Community.

    Hartmut

  • I met Father Axelrodwhen when he entered Gallaudet University 1966. He stayed at Gallaudet and entered in a seminary the following year at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Then his South African bishop called him to give him an accelerated route to priesthood. I met again at an international conference when he was a missionary in Macau/China.

It was very illuminating to see his use of different sign languages and also different manual alphabets in the interview.

  • Very inspiring story with Father Cyril Axelrod who is a deaf priest! He graduated with Fr. Joe Bruce in the class of 1970! He is a Redemptorist, Religious Order Priest like we have at The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston, MA.
