  • You are the man, thank you so much for the videos. Much Appreciated.

  • You are so great! Thanks a lot for all those precious videos! Hi from France!

  • @Maile08711 thank you for the kind words !

  • Thank you so much for these great lessons, Freddy. I really enjoy them. Would you happen to have a lesson on split chords?

  • @henryinvisible thank you , i'm sorry but i don't know what a split chord is unless it goes by another name also :-(

  • Hey Freddy, thanks again... Can I ask you somth pls? Im studing your chords... I understand the last two diminished chords (G# and C#) are actually Dim7, correct? Does it make much difference or I should keep it in mind? maybe you clarify this in following videos sorry if thats the case.. And thanks again - Tom

  • @shoomeedamoneee a dim.7 chord = 1-b3-b5-6 or (bb7) // Cdim.7 = C-Eb -Gb-A or(bbB) .

the 6th(A) and double flatted 7th(A) are enharmonic equivalents.that is 2 notes that sound the same but are written differently.G# and Ab are enharmonic equivalents.in sheet music and chord books you will rarely see a diminished chord written as a dim.7.it will just say G#dim.

  • @freddym223 many thanks!

  • Thanks alot! very well made!! -- you also made me laugh at 2:33 :)

  • Hi Fred, incredible, thank you very much for this. Could I just ask you what are the lessons No.1 to No.2 in here? Thank you.

  • @TheBonneMaman hi . i removed them since i didn't use diagrams.consider lesson #5 lesson #1

  • I wanted to know if you could do a video jazz licks...like the chords u used in this video mayb a video with sum licks that cud b used with those chords.

  • @MrFender1231 i have no way to write out licks on yt.i don't think of licks when i play.i just jazz around the melody and the licks just happen.you should keep going on these lessons till you know all the chords.then learn to chord over tunes.you can buy books on licks if thats the way you want to go.

  • This video is humorous yet...quite educational.

  • thank you MrFender1231 ! although i joke around with the annotation, i do take these lessons very serious. :-)

  • glad to be of help alexoplane !

  • I downloaded all of the videos for the series!!

  • Thank you so much For putting up this vid. I'm using the ones you put on the A string only Because believe it or not I play like Jimi Hendrix. I'm a lefty and play a righty upsidedown ,so it's hard for me to do the first variations you have on there, but like you have mentoined there many ways to play the chords. I learned a lot from this video, Before I watched this video i didn't know what the difference was between a maj 7th, minor 7th, and dominant 7th.This vid. isa great way to start jazz!

  • hi thejimi52 . if you find you like jazz, you might think about getting a cheap left handed ax and play both ways.

i think the upside down right hander might limit you in jazz. but i could be wrong. have fun playing the guitar any way you choose !

  • @freddym223 Thats a great idea. I actually use a jem 777 now, and like right handed guitars for me the volume and tone knobs get in the way and i always accidentally turn them down with mu picking hand.

  • Your an Excellent musician and guitar trainer.

    Thank you Freddy

  • @salaber thx for nice comment Mike !

  • Thank you very much for such a useful lesson. And your sence of humour is perfect.

  • Great lesson man! Thanks a lot!

  • @panamanian911 thx for commenting, but as well as you play already, i wouldn't think you need this lesson.

  • @freddym223 Hahahahah! Well, thanks for the compliment. I worried about technique for far too long, but I was introduced to jazz relatively recently, and it got me extremely excited about guitar again. Jazz is the reason why I haven't uploaded anything in a while. I dove into it and I'm still learning so much.

  • @auburngoalie yah,i know . ever since i got my nose fixed my mouth don't work. :-(

  • Yea I just want to say thanks as well. I've been playing guitar for 30 years and would run from jazz. I thought you had to have hands the size of Kansas for some of the chords. Little did I know I'd already picked up most of the chords snuck into other styles of music. But thanks to you it helped me connect the dots. Thanks for taking the time to share you knowledge. I'd like to sit down and have a beer with you, I bet you're a hoot.

  • thx for commenting mytone100 ! to me these jazz chords are easier than big cowboy type barre chords.

  • thx elcantardenuva ! i hope the lessons work for you.

  • I have been playing guitar for years and never really took the time to break down the concept of odd substitution chords like flat 5's, flat 9's, etc. Consequently, I never really had much fun playing guitar, that is until I started getting interested in jazz and jazz chords. A quick search on YouTube lead me here where my chord knowledge base was greatly expanded. After a bit of trial and error and fooling up and down the fretboard, I started to ask myself, "Why wasn't it always this easy/fun?"

  • thx whiteboy1204 ! yes.guitar should be fun. jazz is really not that hard if learned in small doses

  • thanks freddy baby.keep swing'in! very helpful! who ever was say'in those nasty comments ought to be incinerated or grow up....at least or best*
