Those tools suck, I've tried them a few times, they're cheap and break too easily. Use a hand-held dry-wall "saw" to carve the lid and use an ice-cream scooper to get rid of the guts.

Put white pvc pipes close to the size of the tea candle... put hot glue on the pvc to imitate wax. Or just use a candle and drench the pvc pipe with wax. Light your tea light at night it looks like a large area of candles.
