@bodomterror92 Also look up Esoteric, Solitude Aeturnus, and for some really dark stuff, try Abysmal Sorrow and Funeral Mourning. nothing could be darker than blackened funeral doom metal lol.

@opethforlife That was a bit a mean response of me if you take it up that seriously, using the word immature...but I meant to say that I can't take it seriously when someone is reasoning about something like "truth" from what you call a sulky emotional moment. A thing like "the truth always hurts" sounds like an objective statement while it is, to my ears, utter nonsense. Plus that I do not feel doom metal is always about one thing. What I meant, in short: I find your comment too melodramatic.

@opethforlife I think you are right but I do not fully agree. I find doom metal to not be something I listen to just to cheer me up, for that is something that obviously doesn't happen. I do find, though, that doom metal provides catharsis, which I find better than joy anyhow.

@LucruxDCLXVI I agree with you, but for some reason i find some doom acts increase the bad emotions and reinforce the negitivity.I don't mean they cast some spell upon the mind by their music, but they can make ( a compatible ) direct connection with your emotions or bad experiences, so i sulk badly.

Human emotion is beautiful, good or bad emotion it is the essence of what life is. so as a human I respect all that I am, the good and bad. I listen to this to feel that power as a human. Life is not all dandelions and butterflies, and i for one dont feel any emotion from shallow 'happy' music. only beauty in this essence. go listen to your happy music, we don't judge

@mutilatedbaby I wouldn't call this song "very long", as eight minutes is about average for Doom; if you want outrageously long songs look at Swallow the Sun - Plague of Butterflies (34m) and Corrupted - El Mundo Frio (over an hour), and lots of Esoteric's stuff hits 20m, if you can handle their extremely dark atmosphere.
