@woodenchairs naa I started with a rebleyell video 6-7 related videos later I'm here! lol gotta love insomnia! Been on a 125cc for 4 years and its killing me inside! However went out for a night ride few hours ago and it was a blast! I do love my bike! but I would love to go longer distances!
I really love your bike. In one of Rebel's videos, I know that you have an '06 model now. I'm looking at getting a Lime Green 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 650R next summer, along with a Garmin Zumo 550 GPS System. Where abouts are you? I live in Bemidji, MN. Take care bud...
How much was the garmin and do you know the model? I'm into taking trips and can't stand pulling to the side of the road and looking at a map to be sure I'm on the the right path.
@camaro92350 My garmins the zumo 450 but its been discontinued. They still sell the 550 which looks exactly the same and does the same but it also has bluetooth unlike mine. Its very expensive tho. Tomtom has the rider2 motorcycle gps thats cheaper but doesnt have the mp3 player built in like these do. Garmin also has a new one but its even more expensive.
@woodenchairs Yea I just saw the prices and fell out of my chair in horror! They are little more than 2 and a half times a good car gps. But then again your getting a water-proof gps with alot more goodies in it.
@camaro92350 Ya i no. Even when i bought mine and they were cheaper they were still crazy expensive but, as u said, theyre tougher than car gps', water proof, have more features than most gps', and come with all u need to mount it to the bike so i went with it and havent regretted spending it one bit. Gotta be one of the best things ive ever bought espec because of the mp3 and spoken directions so u dont have to look away from the road while riding.
Making a second reply here since i went over in the last one. lol Thanks for the compliment and glad you enjoyed the vid. I never understood why they change the names of bikes from one country to another. Kinda weird. I think it says 600F on a tag under my rear seat if i remember right. lol
No worries on late replies. I enjoy all comments no matter when they come in. (:
I thought of doing that before i made the vid and I think someone suggested it too but the prob is that that stuff doesnt usually last to good with a lotta weather hitting it. I got some incredable downpours on me when ive traveled so id be worried about that plus is the paint did run it could get on my bags and i could accidently get it on the carpet of a hotel or something and have to pay for it.
yea i know. i wish i could have gotten an 01' but the opportunity came and if i didn't shoot now...school would have started and i wouldn't have time. but it's all good. Not every garmin model comes like that tho right? i would think most of them come with the suction cup holder for windshields on cages...
did the garmin come with the attachment for the handle bar? or did you have to find that on your own? and how exactly did you just hook it up to your battery? did you have to strip any wires?
btw...i just got the 2000 F4. =D same color scheme that you got here.
with 9300 miles on it for $4800 mine came with a black back seat and i have the same carbon fiber front turn signals/running lights i also have carbon fiber mirrors and carbon fiber frame sliders. I am still working on a video of it should be up in about a week ride safe dude
Do you think the ninja 650r is a good start bike? I live in a city with a lot of highways, and i might be having a passenger a lot, so i'm not sure if i should get a ninja 250 or 650r for my first bike
The 650R is a great starter bike and it might work out better for you since you have a lot of highways and a passenger. Plus the 650R is not a bike people get tired of so easy. Lotta experienced riders have and keep them in fact. Good bike for travel too! Its also a bike that gives you a lot for the value. Has a modern chassis, good brakes, and fuel injection and still has a very reasonable price.
No prob. Always glad to help when i can. The 250's still a great bike too and is the cheapest to buy and the insurance is also real cheap too. Still, the 650 really might suit you better considering the passenger and highways. The 250 does fine on the highway but its so light that it does get knocked around a lot by wind on the highway and it also has a much harder time going when you have a passenger.
1st theres no need to yell and second a 650 is not going to kill you. A 650R is much slower and much more forgiving than a 600 sportbike. Thats why its a great starter bike just like the 250 is. BTW a 250 will never sound like a 600. A 600 has an inline 4 and a 250 has a twin engine. They sound nothing alike no matter what exhaust. The 650 also has a twin. You need to learn some things before you try giving advice on bikes!
id suggest seriously lookin at a 250. The insurance 4 a 16yr old onna bike is gonna be a serious raping! If you can afford the insurance on a bigger bike then id suggest something more managable like a 650R, SV650, or an older 600 from the mid to late 90s. Power isnt the only reason for these suggestions. The brakes on the faster bikes are touchy and not so easy for new riders. Please also take the MSF course. It can save your life!
thanks man really appreciate it. actually i was just looking at the 650r LOL but who knows i guess i will see what the dealers have at the time. and yes i will definitely take the MSF course for all kinds of reasons again thanks for your time
when i got into motorcycles when i was a sophomore in high i got a 03 honda cbr 600rr i think if u can handle that kind of power u should get on there there way better then a small like a 250 bigger bike get up to speed faster even though u live in a big city like i do i need the power and a 250 dont have that at all i think if u live in a small town that would work better for u not in a big city and i like to drive fast
Oh man, I would kill to have another Honda. I had an F2, and I wish like hell I hadn't sold it (or my SuperHawk for that matter). And I LOVE the 600's. My Ducati is awesome, and I won't give her up for the world, but it kinda sucks to rarely, if ever, leave 4th gear (I can do triple digits in 3rd with plenty of room to spare).
I might get another Honda as a track bike.. someday..
I was open to other makes of bike but ive always seemed to prefer hondas because i find them more comfortable, for me anyway, than other bikes of the same size/class which is important since i like to travel by bike. I also have had great reliability and heard great reliability stories about them even from non honda dealers.
Thanks man. I have to admit that ill always miss my old hurricane even though this bike is better. That hurricane was my first bike and it always ran, never gave me any trouble, and i had a lotta good times on it. As much as i like the new bike im sad to see the old hurricane go.
Awesome. I think you'll like it. I bought it because its one of the more comfortable sportbikes available but it still has plenty of balls. Its always nice to have a bike thats comfortable because you'll end up riding it and enjoying it more.
Anyways, i really appreciate your comments and you'll have to let me know when you get one so i can check it out. :)
Thank you. :D I went with it because i like to travel and the Hondas are generally pretty comfy for a sportbike. This one's a little more aggressive seating wise than my old CBR/hurricane was but still better than a lot of other bikes ive sat on.
No prob, and ya i agree with ya any honda that i have sat on, i loved it..very comfortable and they handle so good too! I seem to like the more aggressive seating over the upright seating!
I got the Cybershot T77. Ive played around with the T77 now and it looks like it'll work in my helmet (if the weather ever gets better here) but i have to say that im not impressed with its indoor vids so far. Its dark which will be good outside but im gonna have to play with the settings and see if i can improve the inside shots. I did a vid with it already as a test. It was vlogger challange part 2 if you want to see what im talking about with the new cam.
The shifter on a bike is on the left side right by where your left toe would be. Its a little pedal in front and slightly higher than the foot peg that your left foot rests on while riding. You shift by pushing down or up with the toes on your left foot while, at the same time, using the clutch which is the left hand lever by your left hand. If you're still confused or still wanting to see the shift pedal lemmie know and ill see about shooting a vid of it 4 u but all it is is a small pedal.
All it is is a little pedal right in front of the leftside foot peg. It just looks like a small pedal like a clutch pedal in a car only it doesnt have a large rubber square on it for you to step on. If it ever clears up here ill try and remember to shoot it on video when im getting on the bike.
F4i's aren't bad little bikes. Since you say you like riding highway, and mileage is a concern, you may want to look into dropping a tooth or two from stock on the rear sprocket if/when you change it. Why not sacrifice a hair more power for some more mileage eh?
Nah, id just like the stock gearing. I like the power and powerband of the stock 600 and also it would make the speedo either right or pretty close to right again. Its waaay off right now. Luckily the GPS is on there and it tells me an acurate speed.
nice bike man....looks familiar...lol...but mine is a 05...you want to get rid of that seat i have a idea...i will trade you my sub frame rear cowl for yours...lol...i got the dam banana seat.
:D lol Does that mean you're actually gonna talk silent bob? That'll be cool altho i was starting to think we'd do a vid together one day as Jay and silent bob. :p lol
Thank you. Im really happy with it now that ive gotten to take it out for longer than a test ride. I was thinking it wasnt stock at first but the old owner threw in a Clymer (sp?) manual that has this exact bike on the front and it has the same gray rear seat. So i guess it is stock.
Thanx man. Sure felt good to ride it today too. Ready to vlog once i get this stupid plate bracket worked out. At this rate you, billmaa, and me should go out to a bar together and do a sad vlog on why we all arent riding right now. lol
Thank you cip. Theres another thing i forgot to mention. I have ear phones that connect to the GPS so i can hear her and the music. I should do a vid on the GPS.
Thank you Toasty I appreciate it. Gotta tell you though that, as much as i love this new bike, i sure wanted a blue bike like yours. I love that color on yours just seemed like everything i looked at was silver for some reason. You should get the gps so you can come to the motorcycle vlogger gathering! Theres more talk about it in my vlogger unite comments! :D I hear ya man! I was tired of messing with them on my old bike and really wanted injection this time. Thanx again for the compliments. :D
Oh man, i forgot to talk about this too in the video. Doh. I was just dying to ride and forgot everything i wanted to say. lol Yes i think i did. I got the bike for 3600 which also included a honda motorcycle jacket and alpine star boots which i also forgot to mention in the video. DOH! Jeez, i really messed up. lol Thanks for the question. I think ill jot down some of the questions like yours and try to cover them on an actual vlog.
Thank you. Im kicking myself after reading your comment because i intended to talk about why i went with the F4I in the video but i forgot probably because i was dying to ride it. lol I agree with your comment. I felt very comfortable on the hurricane and knew i would be on the F4I too. Hopefully ill remember to go into this more on an actual vlog because i think its important to think about riding position when picking a bike. Thanks again for the comment. I appreciate it.
ah im first person to view haha. super nice bike!!, i love these bikes. i never knew it was illlegal to ride without mirrors thanks for clarifying that ; i wish my 250 was fuel injected so bad. that bike sounds amazing. im stuck with my 250 tell i get a better job lmao. and nice gps i want one now xD.
Thanks a lot for the compliemts! I appreciate it man. :) I think you have to have 2 mirrors which is why cars can have 1 on 1 side and not on the other cuz their rearview counts as one. Bikes dont have a rearview so need both i think. Fuel inj is nice to have here in the cold fo sho! Sending you a message with some details on the gps. Thanx again for commenting.
