I can post many links of accounts of people doing research in the region that state tigers kill sloth bears, but in general tigers are wary of them because they can't risk an injury. Several sib adult tigers have been found dead in Amur region, near China, killed by big adult brown bears. Bears were reported to eat tigers too.
On the other hand there´s no reliable report on tigers preying big brown bears.Only calves or young/small bears. Even in ambush they would have several problems on killing a big bear: bears bones are very dense, they have a huge fat and muscle building protecting their vital parts, and bears overturn very easily...

actually the sloth bear was invading the tigress territory and including her own den.
This sloth bear is putting this too far...
On the first meeting bear couldn´t use his paws because he was on going down position so his weight and equilibrium was all on the front legs. Anyway he managed to get the tigress away. Secondly he was able to use his paws so the tigress didn´t even go near him.

Yes, small bears can be tigers diet.Even if sometimes can rip a tigers eye, intestines,etc... That´s way this bengal tigress didn´t atacked promptly the small bear. Too risky,for her. Sometimes they chase away, more for territory disput rather than food. Anyway sloth bears are known to chase away bengal tigers from their killings, and this makes me think « hei sloth bear is the strongest»? Certainly not. the narrator didn´t mentioned big bears, did he?

I know of one incident wher a sloth bear killed a tiger. Also on Natioal Geagraphic I watched a sloth bear back down a male and female tiger protecting their cubs.I thought the bear was doomed but after it began wind milling its huge claws the tigers refused to attack even though the bear was in close proximity to their cubs

I actually saw that video too. Boy did those tigers look ready to tear that bear to shreds. That bear huffed and puffed to make itself appear much larger than it actually was.

Some people on here post ridiculous stuff I've never heard or seen anything about a sloth bear back down a male tiger, and a female tiger will die to protect her cubs. If you saw that on national geographic post the video. It's simple as this tigers are not fighters. Unlike lions tigers don't live in prides and have to hunt for themselves. They are very wary of any animal that can cause an injury. That doesn't mean they wouldn't win a fight.

1605 I saw it on TV.I donot have the video. As I said I was surprised at the outcome but sloth bears have been known to kill tigers one on one but that does not mean tigers have not killed sloth bears. They have. And before you accuse people of posting rediculous stuff try doing a little research. Just because you have not seen it or heard of it does not mean it did not happen. someone else posted they too had seen the film I spoke of. I have no reason to post things I have not seen or read

Post any information up that you have of a sloth bear killing an adult tiger, with a link. I can post many links of accounts of people doing research in the region that state tigers kill sloth bears, but in general tigers are wary of them because they can't risk an injury. I really doubt a sloth bear scared off a female with cubs in the vicinity. I wasn't referring to you when I said ridiculous I was referring to whoever posted a brown bear would destroy two tigers at once.

And I'm not biased and not into posting stupid stuff like a lot of the clowns on here. I go off the information that I've seen. I have also read accounts of sloth bears driving a tigress from a kill, but what you posted would be an amazing feat and I'd like to see it with my own two eyes before I believe it. I've seen video of a tigress killing a male leopard that was too close to her cubs.

Tigers don't have stamina, like most cats they are made for quick, ferocious, and powerful attacks. Bears probably have just as much stamina as a tiger. But this arguement over who would win is crazy. It totally depends, tigers can ambush sloth bears, and kill them. This wasn't a fight, it was just two animals that know they are one injury away from slow death by infection. Animals have it figured out, "run away and live anotherday".
