@IOmegadUrMom its so wierd! really, like sega dont have the rights to the music of their own game... and why not just buy the rights for the re-release ?

I thought that too, though I do think Sonic Boom is a better song. But after playing a bit of the PSN version with the Japanese music I like that soundtrack much better.

This big text block in a nutshell: Sonic X could of been better >.>
There is going to be a digital re-release of Sonic CD, appearing in less than a month (this December 2011). It will include BOTH American AND Japanese in the US release!
oh fuck off stupid Americans who keep saying this is shite, im from England and this is what we got in the Mega CD version. It's catchy, upbeat. It's what sonic is about! Also you can keep your lame ass palmtree panic music because man the Jap version of that is hella better! It's more fun and vibrant. Hails to the european version and JAP NTSC, it's OST is so much more detailed and formidable, pure joy to my ears. Also least this was done in real jap anime! the japs rock! :D
@kennydude19 I believe "whatever" is used to show callous indifference to what you have to say. How is that supposed to "upset" me? It's quite clear you're just doing this just for attention so, that's all fine and dandy bra. And actually while a lot of them prefer the Japanese music for the remainder of the game, this is one of the few tracks where the US is considered superior. Kinda like how most people hate the gba music for DKC2 except for Primal Rave which is considered better in the gba.
@OniLordMiki Maybe I was a tad bit harsh and I didn't call YOU stupid lol There are some yanky folk on here who seem to think every game they have had released in America is more superior to anything, and that my friend is pure ignorance. I prefer the Japanese soundtrack to the NTSC American one. You sounded a bit upset and I am going to apologize if I had offended you. I don't do anything for attention, I am blunt and this is a website where we can share our thoughts on games we love
@OniLordMiki It's all cool now days because NTSC games usually have the same soundtracks and game content as PAL, there is more equality in games today. Back then games developers from Japan had to include a whole different set of soundtracks to appeal to American markets. Don't be surprised, there are many people who have argued for years about what is better...Sonic BOOM or You Can Do Anything.
@OniLordMiki Just one more note to add is that I am a big Sonic The Hedgehog fan and I do enjoy "Sonic BOOM" I own both versions of the game, so I am not a hater. Over the years I always felt the jap version was more colorful and more rocky. I just felt Sonic BOOM was a bit dulled and watered down. Cosmic Eternity is an amazing track in my opinion and a great way to end the game.
@kennydude19 If am not mistaken, Sega America who did the port to the West, did water down the game a lot. This game got panned because of it. And they thumb tacked a dull version of the opening as you correctly said Sonic Boom was dull imo.
@kennydude19 Although I don't appreciate the "stupid Americans" comment. Just because I prefer a song does not mean my intelligence has to be called into question.
The song is the same used in the original (with a few slight changes) but the video is longer than the original that was in the MegaCD/SEGACD versions
@lidd36 Yeah. The American version of Stardust Speedy Bad kicked the Japanese' ASS!!! It's a fact, just listen to both tunes. But the theme goes for Japan. And so on.
I don't know why they changed it in North America, but they did. I mean I like them both. Sure, I'd agree that the American one is more likely to make some one feel like saving the world, but this one is energizing in a different way.

Holy god. The japanese version of the music is SHIT. I always heard that the japanese soundtrack was better, but jesus, that was so bad! I laughed at that version. The english opening kicks ASS!!
i have the game also (the pal version) and THIS IS the opening music in every pal version.
i know what i am saying bro. i was a huge sega fan back in the days. i got the saturn, dreamcast, sega cd, game gear also today. and i am from germany, so believe me that i know which is the EU pal version. because i had many pal/eu games. this opening is the normal eu opening.
I live in England and owned this on PC. The Pc version has the American soundtrack, at least the original run did! I always thought I had the Japanese soundtrack on my game being a "europe version" but after searching through Youtube and only recognising the American tracks...
I know it was originally out on Mega CD (Europe/Japanese name for the SEGA CD btw...)
I got it in 1996 so the first release on the PC. I live in England and therefore presumed I had the European version of the game..
I know this video for the PAL version but the PC Pal version contains the American music which I didn't realise. You said it is the opening in EVERY Pal version. My version is PAL and it doesn't contain this version. Grats on being a fan, join the club :S
@plasticboy81 There were discrepancies between PAL & NTSC version back in the days. This was due to the fact that most UK television & some parts of Europe weren't able to play the game at the correct frame rate at the time. Put it this way, all or most Sonic games was actually 25% slower than the NTSC version.
C'mon, I'm not the ONLY one who thinks so, better music, lowest crime rate, awesome television shows, highest literacy rate, everyones so GODAMN polite. Compare that to us. Phh, yeah.
@pidman009 I know i'm really sad about what happened in Japan too. In fact, I was watching an episode of Bizzare Foods on the travel channel last night; Andrew met up w/ someone dressed as a pink cat at a resturaunt. His reply was "Wow, i've never been anywhere else in the world and seen a pink cat eating octopus balls w/ chop sticks. I started to laugh and think "only in Japan". I forgot what happened to them but suddenly remembered, so I had to turn the channel to keep from crying. Why them?
@pidman009 Oh and another thing, the difference between them and a lot of ther countries is this; after that catastrophy had happened, there were no people out looting in the streets. They are such a humble,uniqe, hard-working people, and I feel absolutly terrible about what happened. :-(
@pidman009 probably for the same reason Japan is so much better then the UK too: they have Style and they're not afraid to say, do or show anything! not like in the US and here in the UK where we're told "Oh you cant do or show this" and "oh you cant do say that"
@bandit690 Yeppers, my point exactly. Of course some of its obscure or vulgar or just downright unusual. But they have the GUTS to do that shit, anyone do that in the American public, they'll get shot. I just saying that America has extremely let me down. All this ghetto shit going around. I hate this generation to no end. But over there all the kids are well behaved and educated. Over here we got kids having sex at 10. God I hate it here. :(
@pidman009 yea, but let us not forget the tsunami. (i know this was most likely posted before that, but im adding in new info). but yea, better stuff than usa. hell, japanese LoZ Four Swords has a sex scene with link and zelda!
@keyboardplaythroughs Yeah, I've always wanted to go there... I mean I KNOW Eupope smarted, cause when we get mad we go, "JOO MAED UZ MAHD, SO BOOOOOOOOOOM!!"
@pidman009 better music? You need to listen to more music created in America, like Metal, Rock, Jazz. Lowest crime rate? I assure you that its crime rate is the equivalent of America.
I could agree with television shows, and literacy.
Everyone is polite!?
Nobody's perfect; Everybody in Japan are all rainbows and smiley faces.
I like all countries, including Japan, but that statement was just ridiculous. :/
@InvaderWakkoReborn Yep, it seems I forgot those. I live in America. And I am almost completely miserable. Gangsters, ghetto, pure stupitidy, dishonorable, overweight people. A blind goverment. And we are ALWAYS in war. Once we got so bored we started to fight OURSELFS. There is almost no one you can bump into on the street and say "Sorry" because they will most likely shoot you. Japan kicks our overweighted, war addicted, red white and blue ass.
@hylton7 The Yakuza actually have a code though, they'll NEVER harm civilians and there are all kinds of rules they need to follow. On top of that they are mainly legit businesses.
If you wanna know more, read "Tokyo Vice" by Jake Adelstein. Amazing book that I'd highly recommend to anybody interested in knowing more about the Yakuza/Japanese culture.
@pidman009 highest suicide rates, highest rates in mental burnouts. it has many great things yes but also many bad things. we should all learn from each other but none are better than the other
@drunkensailor112 True. But things like suicide and mental issues are just not things you encounter in everyday life. I feel that politeness and common courtesy SHOULD be common in America. I know for a fact that we are not very liked by the rest of the world. Hence all the terrorist, political issues with other countries, bombings, and other such things. Not to mention we are ALWAYS in war. And our own people are dirty, impolite, and always have a gun. We just aren't a well run country anymore.
@pidman009 that is true. but has nothing to do with being overly polite or anything. american people overall don't seem to think for themselves at all. when I watch oprah winfrey, dr phill, bill o'reily/fox or george bush, it disgusts me more than anything in life. the lies and bullshit they feed millions of americans that appearantly believe everything those people say. something that in europe could never happen. here is much more critical aproach of any information.
@drunkensailor112 Heh, true but this wasnt what I was trying to make a point of. True, people here are ignorant, and unaware of their own flaws but just common courtesy, man. Pop cultre disgust me. (Not including internet and related things.) But news channels, music industry, talk shows, "reality" shows, and things of that nature. But I was trying to make a point of how people act, not what they choose to believe and think by. People here just don't care.
If it was a point of how people act, it wasn't a very good one. I for one don't live around dirty impolite gun toters, and you shouldn't generalize a nation because you happened to have been dealt a bad hand. There are many people that DO care, and I'm sorry if you've honestly never met them.
Terrorism, politics and wars aren't exclusive to America; those are WORLD problems. No "nation" likes ANYBODY. It's all about the individual, and how we deal with each other.
@SmashBroDx I live in America. It wasnt just a bad experience. And don't get me wrong, I know plenty of nice, legit people here. It's just that the majority of people I've met aren't that way. Most are impolite, arogant, obnoxious people. I mean, just today, I bumped into a guy, before I could say, "Sorry, excuse me." He flashed me a sharp look and called me a "Clumbsy cracka" And no it wasnt a racial slur, he was also caucasion. What's the point of being free if everyone takes it for granted?
Is it just me, or is it a little weird that they'd make a game with an intro in a language most of them can't understand well enough to know what's being said ; or, what emotion is being expressed? I've heard that English is a required course in Japanese high schools, but more than likely, they don't use it enough after leaving school to have much fluency in it.
Japan's intro is gay toot too sonic warrior really USA intro is better

@Jixson
this is the REAL original opening.
plasticboy81 10 months ago
@plasticboy81 - I have the original EU version, this is an extended cut used for extras in all those Sonic compilation games
Jixson 4 months ago
@Jixson
i have the game also (the pal version) and THIS IS the opening music in every pal version.
i know what i am saying bro. i was a huge sega fan back in the days. i got the saturn, dreamcast, sega cd, game gear also today. and i am from germany, so believe me that i know which is the EU pal version. because i had many pal/eu games. this opening is the normal eu opening.
plasticboy81 4 months ago
@plasticboy81 Actually... not true..
I live in England and owned this on PC. The Pc version has the American soundtrack, at least the original run did! I always thought I had the Japanese soundtrack on my game being a "europe version" but after searching through Youtube and only recognising the American tracks...

@Hushhushshh
of course its true....i talk about the SEGA CD version. not the pc version....the game is original for the sega cd.
and this is the music in the palversion on the SEGA CD.
plasticboy81 4 months ago
@plasticboy81 Right? :S
Hushhushshh 3 months ago
@Hushhushshh
acutally i didnt know that a pc version of this game exist´s ;-)))
so i mean every sega cd pal version, like german, english, french.
plasticboy81 3 months ago
@plasticboy81 There were discrepancies between PAL & NTSC version back in the days. This was due to the fact that most UK television & some parts of Europe weren't able to play the game at the correct frame rate at the time. Put it this way, all or most Sonic games was actually 25% slower than the NTSC version.
ChronoJ01 2 months ago
@ChronoJ01
i am familar with that;-)
and some pal games had not the complete screen filled.

Why's Japan so much better than America?

Why them?
TheSnowyice 9 months ago
@pidman009 Oh and another thing, the difference between them and a lot of ther countries is this; after that catastrophy had happened, there were no people out looting in the streets. They are such a humble,uniqe, hard-working people, and I feel absolutly terrible about what happened. :-(
TheSnowyice 9 months ago
@pidman009 I think that too.
melodysuarez 8 months ago
@pidman009 probably for the same reason Japan is so much better then the UK too: they have Style and they're not afraid to say, do or show anything! not like in the US and here in the UK where we're told "Oh you cant do or show this" and "oh you cant do say that"

@pidman009 yah but look at all the weird shit they have, their one step away of becoming one of the robots they built...
bandit690 8 months ago

InvaderWakkoReborn 6 months ago
@InvaderWakkoReborn Yep, it seems I forgot those. I live in America. And I am almost completely miserable. Gangsters, ghetto, pure stupitidy, dishonorable, overweight people. A blind goverment. And we are ALWAYS in war. Once we got so bored we started to fight OURSELFS. There is almost no one you can bump into on the street and say "Sorry" because they will most likely shoot you. Japan kicks our overweighted, war addicted, red white and blue ass.
pidman009 6 months ago
@pidman009
their are gangsters in japan to brah ever hear of the yakuza?
hylton7 6 months ago
@hylton7 The Yakuza actually have a code though, they'll NEVER harm civilians and there are all kinds of rules they need to follow. On top of that they are mainly legit businesses.
If you wanna know more, read "Tokyo Vice" by Jake Adelstein. Amazing book that I'd highly recommend to anybody interested in knowing more about the Yakuza/Japanese culture.

Freedom of Speech? The media isn't your only outlet.
If you read through ANY history book you'd see all sorts of hypocrisy.
It took longer than should have, but they're still freedoms other nations would only dream of. Land of the free, not of the perfect.

@pidman009 highest suicide rates, highest rates in mental burnouts. it has many great things yes but also many bad things. we should all learn from each other but none are better than the other
drunkensailor112 6 months ago 11
@drunkensailor112 True. But things like suicide and mental issues are just not things you encounter in everyday life. I feel that politeness and common courtesy SHOULD be common in America. I know for a fact that we are not very liked by the rest of the world. Hence all the terrorist, political issues with other countries, bombings, and other such things. Not to mention we are ALWAYS in war. And our own people are dirty, impolite, and always have a gun. We just aren't a well run country anymore.
pidman009 6 months ago
@pidman009 that is true. but has nothing to do with being overly polite or anything. american people overall don't seem to think for themselves at all. when I watch oprah winfrey, dr phill, bill o'reily/fox or george bush, it disgusts me more than anything in life. the lies and bullshit they feed millions of americans that appearantly believe everything those people say. something that in europe could never happen. here is much more critical aproach of any information.
drunkensailor112 6 months ago
@drunkensailor112 Heh, true but this wasnt what I was trying to make a point of. True, people here are ignorant, and unaware of their own flaws but just common courtesy, man. Pop cultre disgust me. (Not including internet and related things.) But news channels, music industry, talk shows, "reality" shows, and things of that nature. But I was trying to make a point of how people act, not what they choose to believe and think by. People here just don't care.
pidman009 6 months ago
@pidman009
SmashBroDx 6 months ago
@SmashBroDx I live in America. It wasnt just a bad experience. And don't get me wrong, I know plenty of nice, legit people here. It's just that the majority of people I've met aren't that way. Most are impolite, arogant, obnoxious people. I mean, just today, I bumped into a guy, before I could say, "Sorry, excuse me." He flashed me a sharp look and called me a "Clumbsy cracka" And no it wasnt a racial slur, he was also caucasion. What's the point of being free if everyone takes it for granted?
pidman009 6 months ago
@pidman009 Also there's a lot of racism against those of any Asian decent other than Japanese.

kayraws 10 months ago
Is it just me, or is it a little weird that they'd make a game with an intro in a language most of them can't understand well enough to know what's being said ; or, what emotion is being expressed? I've heard that English is a required course in Japanese high schools, but more than likely, they don't use it enough after leaving school to have much fluency in it.
