I get what your saying but i think that in the first couple of RE's the reason theammo was so scarce was because they weren't prepared for a zombie outbreak so it would make sense that in later games that there would be more ammo and such because the fact that the zombies have been around for a while
What i think they should do is make a Game Mode called "Classic" or something where there is less Ammo and Zombies don't drop items, that would be really hard but also really fun, the new Resi's are hardly a Challenge, well Resi 5's hardest mode was pretty difficult, but still.
The original recipe for resident evil was fantastic. Having small amounts of ammo that you must search for, using the knife when possible to save ammo. Planning ahead to carry or deposite ink ribbons knowing when to save or not. Only being able to choose a few items such as health or ammo perhaps a key if needed. All these key elements alone made the game play awesome. Today RE has gone from survival to action. Played RE4 hated it, didnt bother to play RE5 nor will i buy this garbage.
@CombustTheChronic not to even mention the awsome in game puzzles, the large world with multiple pathways and rooms leading to new hallways, the choice of where to go, ect. The new approch to RE is so linear, there is just 1 path way and you never go back or off to the side, also the story has gone in to much depth with pointless drama that dosnt even help character development, lame... They should just have created a new series and left RE as it was....
Resident Evil 4 and Code: Veronica X are coming to PS3 in HD. Are they anything like the classics? (I ask cuz I only trust a fan's word ;p) Though I never played any RE game after 1, 2 and 3 on the ps1 this will be a great moment to play em. But it's a bit disappointing they only release those 2 games on the HD collection and not the classics. Just bought the gold edition of RE5 though! After seeing you play it in your 30 days of gaming a while back.

Hey Alan, did you see the Resident Evil: Damnation trailer? Maybe there's a connection between the guy you see rescue Leon from lickers at the end of that trailer and the guy who's in RE6. I agree with everything you said. Overall, I think the trailer has impressed me more than ORC, which looks to be a good co-op game, but falls flat as a RE game. I would definitely like some online and local co-op. A co-op survival mode should be a must as well. Imagine, Leon and Chris versus hoards of zombies.

Dame Tango Cherry is going to be your gimmick now, but also yes I agree with you Alan err I can that the Resident Evil series is not the little gem that it used to be were it felt like a whole level which you did mention, the little touches like limited ammo so there for you have to be careful on how you use it, the suspense of when you are in a silent area and having no idea on whom or what might pop out at you.

I'm not that hyped about RE6, at least not yet. Currently it looks like just another step into the wrong direction. I'll bet it will be a good game, but...*sigh*.... I want them to go from "survival action" to "survival horror". 4 and 5 were great games, but not scary at all. And for 6 I expect the same. Anyway, I do hope I'm completely wrong and the game will blow my mind and scare my shitless! RE: Operation Raccoon City on the other hand looks like a complete fail of a RE game.
They should do a resident evil game with the old style graphics,it was the camera angles that made the game look spooky,and i miss the puzzle elements from the old games .they could make a whole city photo realistic ,in the old style graphics ,im bored with the standard 3d games ,they should make it old school.
