I have 10 and 8 year old sons and a 7-month old daughter and I potty trained my sons when they were 2 because they were ready then. They knew the difference between wet and dry by then, what pee and doo-doo is. When it became mandatory to potty train kids by age 2? Not all toddlers are ready to use potty before age 2, all babies are not the same. Plus books are better than TV to teach kids how to use the potty anyway!

@RangRing68 have you tryed to get her a Big girl under wear? try that with maybe her faviort Charcter on them! and just dont buy anymore dipers if you are using disposibal dipers and tell her when these are gone then we arnt getting anymore because she is a Big Girl now! do you have any body near you that has a new baby? if so tell her that the new baby used dipers and that Big Girls do not use them they use Big girl underwear like mommy or aunt or even daddy!

@jsrcamp , She has been off the diapers for 3 months now. She wears underwear and pees in the toilet but refuses to poop in the toilet, she goes in her undies.She is often constipated. I have tried everything to remedy both problems but nothing. Pediatricians dont seem to have any answers. Thanks for your concern.

@RangRing68 Yay for her=) and you! the other is usally hard for little ones when they first start I know my 4 year old wouldnt do that in the potty she would always go and hide. lol if you are near her look for her cues that she has to go and catch her right befor she goes and put her on the potty and sit ther with her. I had to do that with her when I would notcice and she finally started to go! and I have always brought her in the bathroom with me sience she was a baby. hope this helps=)

Whenever she feels she has to go, she is distant and doesnt want me to come near her and then i would bring her to the toilet , be near and encourage her to go using positive gestures, cartoon character voices, and dancing around, but half the time she cant , due to constipation. I have to use a suppository atleast once a month. Any pointers to help me out in that catagory? I have tried many things to help her constipation, but the stools are usually always hard. Thank you.

@RangRing68 um, I have issues with my oldest daughter and the consption to the point where she ended up in our Pediatric childrens hosptial at Albany med for 3 days because she was running a fever of 104.9 that wouldnt go down so they ended up putting her on a powered laxitive that she takes in her juice cup, I have also been told to get Fiber gummies and they might help her. so try the Fiber Gummies for Kids that you can get at your local health food store and see if that helps=)

@jsrcamp , Glad your oldest made it through that. I spent the night in ER with my little girl because of an inner ear infection she had at 8 months and she was hot to the touch, then the nurse injected a huge needle into her leg (antibiotic) and the look on her little face as she cried almost brought me to tears.Can i get that powdered laxative without a prescription? She doesnt like the gummies. Thank you very much, you are the sweetest youtuber i have ever encountered!

Why so late? My nephew was trained at age 6months opn. Now he's 1 and barely uses any pampers. But I see in US kids do everythign much later than Europe. Walking, talking, potty training...is it because mothers are split from their children because of no paid maternity leave?

I think three year-olds in diapers is disgusting, not to mention insulting their intelligence. If a child is old enough to understand, they are old enough to be toilet-trained. Don't rush, but the earlier, the better.

very help full to me thank you so much. Im using Terri cloth under wear with plastics over them for my potty training so i dont have to use diapers or pull ups less i go to town or church...saves a lot of money :)just a helpful tip for u moms out there :)

Disposable diapers SUCK. I am so glad I diapered my son in cloth. Would you want your feces forever entombed in a landfill for 1000 years? Use cloth and your child will train earlier!

This program was helpful in working with my signing daughter. The sign language component of potty training worked naturally with what we'd already taught her.

My son loves the DVD shown here!  He is past the potty training stage, but still loves the whistle, book and DVD. It never hurts to reinforce those skills.
