There's actually nothing really wrong with the grammar...so what's the fuss...my mom always told me...always can refer to, as mentioned in the earlier posts, frequency...even in the past...Please study more about the several usages of "always."

ALWAYS can refer to past present or future...

ALWAYS is an ADVERB, it modifies the VERB.

the word always here indicates the frequency, it states how often she was told to look her best....

People, I think you should take ENGLISH more seriously. What's the big fuss here? Her grammar here is absolutely CORRECT! I'm tired of explaining this to people who have the guts to criticize KC with her so called "mistake". She used DIRECT SPEECH in this TVC and the word ALWAYS can be used with past tense, it's an adverb of frequency so there you go.I hope that the person or people who accused KC of her being a wrong grammar person should be ashamed of themselves!

her grammar is correct. this an example of what is called direct speech as kc qouted what her mom said or told her. another way to say this: you know what my mom always told me to look my best always,because i did'nt know who i ran into ( indirect speech ).
