Response to Potobill: I used CX2, Ultrasonic range sensor for altitude sensing, for microcontroller, I used BX24 chip, but I recommend something that uses C-language cuz basicX language is wayyy to slow. I would also use more than one microcontroller for each time, logic, sensors, and servo module. I was working on my own on this senior design project with no budget and a limmited time, so I ended up with the abobe spec.
Love it....

also guys, what type of hardware do you use in order to control the hovering of the helicopter??
do you use an accelerometer, or a something like and IR sensor to control altitude??
thank you very much guys

hello guys I am trying to do something like this as well, starting with autonomous hovering, then obstacle avoidance.
I am looking for a coaxial helicopter of about 2 inches and of low cost and durabilyt.
What do you recomend to buy?? I see you are using the cx 2; can this be a good choice for me????
