To everyone asking about his facial expressions: Buckets have very little bounce to them, unlike a snare, so playing them at this speed requires tons of physical exertion, which definetly would make you make faces like that.

@InsideOhio agreed. I play the bucket drums in NYC. playing buckets is a whole different ball game in terms of getting rebound and playing fast. it is crazy tiring.

Actually Larry Wright was not the first. Look up Graeme Kirkland. He started bucket drumming in the late 80's.

i enjoy LARRY's playing but bucket has been around for a long time no one knows who was first but the OLDEST known bucket drummer is from CANADA his name is GUY NADON hes over 80 now
