The only downside of the white macbook is that it's really scratch-able. I got one a week ago, and it has a lot of small scratches already. While on the other hand, macbook pros are somehow harder to scratch.

u should try buying the case for the unibody macbook because since you said it was sticky and it could get hair and you can also get scratches but dropping and things on it so if u r not going to buy a case for it you should buy a cloth. It also can get pretty dirty quickly so i would highly recommend it that you should buy a case. Also theres a keyboard protecter from making spills and missing keyboard letters.

Why did the predecessor to this MacBook have separate audio in and audio out ports and this one doesn't? I just bought one and I didn't even check if it did; i just assumed so. But I just found out it didn't and so I'm kinda mad cuz when I record bass lines on garageband, I can't hear well enough (the speakers just can't project the bass that well). Seems like that would be a standard?

Ok. 3 things. I do t know if someone already mentioned these things, or if they were annotated because I'm on my iPod, but:

1. The trackpad is actually glass, it is just a textured glass

2. The holes were for the mic, the speaker comes out near the vents on the back of the bottom case

3. The headphone jack is also a line-in port.

That is true, I was going to buy the Mac book pro but a couple of days ago when I saw them in the shop side by side, The Macbook is far more refined than the macbook pro, its just the more apps. and integrated tech makes the pro more desirable either wise the white macbook is more Appley, while pro is more like an ordinary silver laptop until that is when you turn it on and the apple badge lights up. However now I am thinking to buy the white with 4GB ram as I always go after beauty.

For you I would say, follow your heart. Because I didn't with my laptop I have now and I'm still regretting it ( HP instead of Sony Vaio FZ ) ( Sony vaio is the only brand I would buy instead of Apple computers if you ask me... yes I'm a sucker for design =D )
