He is not saying sit to the outside, just tip..and let the horse pick you up on the inside. If you sit to the outside, then horse evades and moves aways from yo -.then you have to catch up..all he is saying is that when the horse bends, he rotates his body and lifts you up on the inside. Western horses do not lift the rider in the same way, they stay low in the front..
I also learnd this the way the jury like`s to see it and i had many struggles with my horse. My horse even had many beak problems becouse of the wrong training.
By looking at the video`s it gave my a different vieuw at the way the body moves.
Thank you so much!!!
Greattings from the netherlands (sorry for my bad englisch writting)
This guy is an excellent teacher. He uses simple steps and builds up with easy knowledge that are easy to follow and eventaully this causes a domino effect in his students minds. I'm not even into dressage much but this guy's advice would be benifical to any style. Since bend and flex is part of foundation in any riding style and dicipline. I'm going to try this next time I'm in the ring.
Interesting. This is how reining trainers teach their horses to side pass. Lean to the outside, lift the inside rein. Just goes to show - the mechanics of the horse is always the same!
Oh, my goodness.....Mr. Giacomini's explanation of the horses' bend is so different from what most of us have been told over the years! I love the actual biomechanical descriptions that he gives....thank you for these wonderful videos!
What an awesome trainer!! Thank you so much for filming and posting.

*sigh* .... dressage is a tough sport to learn. There is a lot of conflicting information.
