Should the center score lines be at 3"? I tried it at 3 1/4" and my spine wound up only being 1/2" wide.

I've done both. I used the 3 1/4 so the 3x3 fit in a bit nicer into the holder and I didn't need a wide spine for only the four cards. The other will work BUT you need to keep the flaps to 3 1/4 or your 3x3 envelopes won't fit . Thanks for the comment!
