I saw this car in Dublin a couple of weeks ago. I was driving and a black new shape E Class past me by going the other way. From what I could see the front looked great in black. They had to modernise the back as well and I think they did a good job.

The S & C class look like real MBs, even the genesis rear looks nice, but this just looks like lower end hyundais that have been out alot longer then the new E. Having said that, if I got this car, I would get the sport package and add a lip spoiler to make it look better.

Who cares? At least the latest Lexus GS facelift has those square-ish headlights, and yet, E class copied it. Wasn't Mercedes supposed to be the LEADER OF DESIGN OR WHATEVER? The European Honda Accord Saloon is a darned nice car and the Tourer version is good looking. They are much better looking than the latest Toyota Avensis,that looks terrible.

I dont know what to think of it. I personally think that some shapes or angles look way too much like a CTS. Also It's very big for an E class I think.... It seems like they keep making all the luxury cars bigger and bigger.. I love the interior though, especially the steering wheel, and double sunroof.

Japanese automakers have to date only excelled at making economy small cars. Perhaps Toyota , ( parent of Lexus ) , Nissan , ( parent of Infinity ) and Honda ( parent of Acura) should stick to what they know best ! ( ie Hatchbacks and Mini vans)

Mercedes has the best production cars in the world, this new E-Class has lines of S-Class, it had total change to its predecessor, Lexus has nothing to do with it, there is no point even comparing the two or any other models in looks/quality than Audi and BMW, Lexus expensive Toyota-waste of money, always had unrealistic dreams to compete with Mercedes, Audi, BMW. I noticed in USA Lexus has high ranking, however its absolute nonsense comparing it to European or prosaically German engineering.
