They really don't have anybody that can recreate his original voice, so it's better not to try and find a voice that suits him in english. I love the original voice a lot more, but it would sound really stupid in english.

It was only released in Europe and Australia, and it's supposed to be even better than UA. It's gonna be rereleased on the 3DS in November, but I think that's only for Europe.

Ugh. Maybe its because I have watched 400+ eps in Japanese but I cannot handle hardly any of the English dialog. The same applies the Naruto and Bleach. I have tried but I just can't take the voices they pick out. Of course the reverse of that would be DBZ and Gundam Wing, of which both have badass english dubs.
I don't hear Franky from One Piece. All I hear in this clip is Frank from the autoshop. Learn to act and Rrrrrrroll some Rs for Franky. Don't BS me that rolling Rs is a Japan only thing and hard for English to do, it is damn easy.

First rule of any dub, never compare to sub. Sub always prevails but that does not mean dub is anywhere near bad or ok. FUNimation rocks but Oda himself picked the japanese cast so its better
Man I got that game kind a disappointed to be honest. Was hoping they have the Japanese voices with english subs. And also everything happens on the same island..... wanted to be able to use the ship go to new places. Man people suck at making games that can EASILY be awesome.
People are being so fucking UNGRATEFUL here!!! Funimation did a brilliant job of One Piece franchising it in English! Sure nothing beats the Japanese voices but it's hard to match the Japanese voices so give them some credit!
4Kids is another story. They butchered this classic cartoon giving the characters horrible voices animation and just changed everything about it! They do that to every anime they get hold of!
@boffinme80, 4kids voices were fine, they distinguished the characters. Their problem was that they had to butcher the anime to meet their "kid-friendly" level. Funimation is basically filled with DBZ voice actors, many of which disturb me. One Piece is the ONLY anime I say that sounds better subbed, because I like hearing "GOMU GOMU NO..." compared to "GUM GUM...", it just sounds cooler.
I know I should leave the past in the past but I always thought that if 4Kids got to Franky he'd have a German Accent. I don't know why but I can picture him with a German Accent. Brook on the other hand I'd say a Spanish Accent. (To be honest I though Ussop would have a Spanish accent as well).

Beautiful. The new voices are simply beautiful! I was kinda worried when I found out Patrick Seitz was voicing Franky, but I'd say he did a good job. Sounds nothing like the Japanese voice, but better goofy Isshin Kurosaki's voice than nothing right?
Personally, I'd have picked Vic Mignogna. His voice is high enough to give Franky that "pervert" feel the original had.
I was pretty worried about Franky voice but...its actually really good! Funanimation dubs are a thousand times better then the 4kids one.
That being said, I still think Franky japenese voice is better but thats just because its the best voice ever. I dont remember the name of the guy who do Franky but hes a freaking genius, he also did the voice of Jango.
And even better "I have had enough time to work up a good sweat" (prior to defeating Croc)... "You can be hit when you are a bit stiff" (Luffy's announcement of water's effect on Croc)... All Alabasta quotes.

Ugh. Maybe its because I have watched 400+ eps in Japanese but I cannot handle hardly any of the English dialog. The same applies the Naruto and Bleach. I have tried but I just can't take the voices they pick out. Of course the reverse of that would be DBZ and Gundam Wing, of which both have badass english dubs.

I don't hear Franky from One Piece. All I hear in this clip is Frank from the autoshop. Learn to act and Rrrrrrroll some Rs for Franky. Don't BS me that rolling Rs is a Japan only thing and hard for English to do, it is damn easy.

First rule of any dub, never compare to sub. Sub always prevails but that does not mean dub is anywhere near bad or ok. FUNimation rocks but Oda himself picked the japanese cast so its better

Man I got that game kind a disappointed to be honest. Was hoping they have the Japanese voices with english subs. And also everything happens on the same island..... wanted to be able to use the ship go to new places. Man people suck at making games that can EASILY be awesome.

People are being so fucking UNGRATEFUL here!!! Funimation did a brilliant job of One Piece franchising it in English! Sure nothing beats the Japanese voices but it's hard to match the Japanese voices so give them some credit!
4Kids is another story. They butchered this classic cartoon giving the characters horrible voices animation and just changed everything about it! They do that to every anime they get hold of!

@boffinme80, 4kids voices were fine, they distinguished the characters. Their problem was that they had to butcher the anime to meet their "kid-friendly" level. Funimation is basically filled with DBZ voice actors, many of which disturb me. One Piece is the ONLY anime I say that sounds better subbed, because I like hearing "GOMU GOMU NO..." compared to "GUM GUM...", it just sounds cooler.

I know I should leave the past in the past but I always thought that if 4Kids got to Franky he'd have a German Accent. I don't know why but I can picture him with a German Accent. Brook on the other hand I'd say a Spanish Accent. (To be honest I though Ussop would have a Spanish accent as well).

My reason: I think that it sounds better in japanese. it's suits the charecters. I don't like other speaks to One Piece, only. That's the way i think of most of animes. I just don't like it in english or anything there isn't japanese. (Only Anime. I like Teen Titans in english as an eksempel, cause that's how it's made)

But it does? You know how it sounds like in German i prefer, Chopper dosn't look like one with a really low voice right? That's what i mean. I like the japanese way better, because i think it suits them. The other voices are maybe in a wrong dialect or in a wrong tone. In my ears. I don't have anything against that One Piece is getting subt, but i won't watch it.

Beautiful. The new voices are simply beautiful! I was kinda worried when I found out Patrick Seitz was voicing Franky, but I'd say he did a good job. Sounds nothing like the Japanese voice, but better goofy Isshin Kurosaki's voice than nothing right?
Personally, I'd have picked Vic Mignogna. His voice is high enough to give Franky that "pervert" feel the original had.

I was pretty worried about Franky voice but...its actually really good! Funanimation dubs are a thousand times better then the 4kids one.
That being said, I still think Franky japenese voice is better but thats just because its the best voice ever. I dont remember the name of the guy who do Franky but hes a freaking genius, he also did the voice of Jango.
