  • Looks amazing! :D

  • great video with easy instructions thanks for the principles basics in this

  • Hi Tammy, love ur videos. could u please please please do a video or blog on hair dyeing principles..eg..when to use developer, bleach, toner and how to mix ratios for colour treated, grey and virgin hair etc. thanks so much :-)

  • Thank you for the reply. I have taken pics to show. I have been to 5or so diff stylists, no one gets it. Do you think showing you video will help? Lol

  • My Natural hair 8-9level. Old stylist did slicing at an angle for highlights with a base color at 6or7, can't remember. Anyways it gave me a great blonde color effect. Since then I moved. No other stylist seems to get that I want a blended highlight and I have told them old stylist sliced the highlights. Is this something stylists don't know? I've given up going to a salon. Can I do this myself? Yes I am able. Or if I go back to a stylist what o I tell them I want? Ty

  • @mpokiku Your stylist before sounded like she had a good formula for you. It also sounds pretty straight forward in what you are asking for. Some stylists do not know how to do this, but a good Hair colorist should know. If you have any old pictures of yourself with this color or you can find a picture to bring with you that always is a big help. You'll find another Hair stylist you like...just keep asking around:) Good Luck:)

  • I always use 20 volume on my clients, their hair is previously processed. I rarely use 30 only on very dark hair that want it a lot lighter. I am now on the lookout for semi virgin hair to try this on. Thank you for the input, Tammy! :)

  • Love this color and cut!!

  • Sorry for the double post, oops. Lol

  • Well it looks great! I have only used 20 volume and up for lift. I'll have to try it! :)

  • @ufcknockout3 If you use a lower volume it is less damaging. you can even use 5 volume with bleach if you only want to lift a couple of shades. Although if you need to bleach through previously color treated hair...always use at least 20 volume.

  • I thought 10 volume was for deposit only!?

  • @ufcknockout3 You can use 10 volume with bleach and get it to lift:)

  • I thought 10 volume was for deposit only!?

  • you apply the dye in all the hair, after of the bleach, or only in the hightlights???

  • @lovesteeef In this case I believe I did the highlights first and then I applied the all over color after.

  • hi i colored my hair black then i made two section blonde it was very nice until i washed my hair and the blonde became grey .. what i did wronge ?

  • @00lubna00 If the blonde you used had a violet or blue base, it might be picking up the base. It should fade out on its own. You could try using a clarifying shampoo. Or a colr conditioner with gold in it. Hope this helps:)

  • Did you use a toner after bleaching her hair?

  • @tarah106 I don't think I had to.

  • Forgot to add to my last comment: I may even use this technique for my hair, but I'm planning on doing deep purple on top and pink underneath. Super unprofessional-looking, which is exactly why I'm getting a brown wig to wear to work. xD.

  • While I was watching this, I was really pissed at first because I thought it was going to be the really tacky yellow blonde with super dark brown on bottom that entirely too many high school kids liked to do... but I watched all the way through anyway, and the results were *super* nice and even very natural-looking. Not the least bit disappointed in this video~! =D.

  • u shouldnt have put the bleach on her roots so soon. ur supposed to apply the bleach on the roots half way through the processing

  • @kelseymg13 Thank you for your input. That rule only applies if you are doing an on the scalp bleach. The reason you would apply on the roots later during an on the scalp bleach process is because the heat from the scalp will process the bleach faster. But if all the hair is going in foil and none of the bleach is going on the scalp..then this rule does not apply:)

  • I wasn't at all sure when you said you'd use a strong dark colour along with bleaching the top sections of hair, but it actually looked rather nice.

  • @lashayxo16 the foil also incudes heat since the body heat only travels 1-2 inches of the shaft. so everything processes evenly

  • when you washed her hair, you just took out all the foil and washed black + blond hair at the same time or you did sth else? please help xD

and my hair is toooo dark. I dyed it light brown and it turned out all dark, I can tell if it's black or brown, because it's not really toooo black. I plan to bleach it once (I've never done bleach before even I've dyed thousand times) do you think I should do it? will it help anw? ♥

  • @teammc2005 Almost all product lines that have a perms will carry one for color treated hair. Honestly I would not recommend doing both. If you do... proceed with caution:) XO

  • @lashayxo16 The foil keeps the hair you do want colored in the foil and stops the product from getting on the hair you don't want colored:)

  • I want to leave the top of my hair black, but for the bottom half all i would have to do is bleach it and go blonde? Will i still need the foil?

  • @xXxJayJay0xXx If you want the whole bottom section blonde you don't need foil. If you want blonde highlights, you need foil, so you can keep the color from getting mixed up with the hair you do not want to color:)

  • @xXxJayJay0xXx if ur bleaching ur hair u should always put it in foil to keep the heat in. for the best results, blow dry the foils while the hair is processing and always check it every 15 minutes to be sure ur not over-processing it :)

  • I want this sooo badd :( my hair is sandy brown tooo so pretty:)

  • THANK YOU i was looking for this

  • Cool

  • @MissesKosmetikos Thank you! I was just watching some of your videos:) I just like the way the V looks from the back. But I sometimes will do straights across as well:)

  • on black hair would 30 vol be better for the blonde? or does the dryer make the 10 vol work better? or would 20 vol and a dry be equal to 30 vol? questions ..

  • @Leilasnewavon These are very good questions and the answer you would get will vary from stylist to stylist. I probably would not put 30 volume under the dryer if at all possible, I would use 30 volume if you are 'Not' applying heat. A lot of stylists prefer to not use heat, I however, use my dryer all the time. You could probably just use the 20 if you are using a dryer. Check it often, like every 2 minutes! You can always use a toner if you get stuck in a "orange/yellow" stage for to long.

  • @Leilasnewavon Let me know how it comes out:) XO Tammy

  • @Leilasnewavon use 40 vol x

  • You are so helpful!

  • This came out fantastic! I just highlighted my hair at home with the help of your highlighting video, by the way so thank you! It came out better than me doing my hair ever had before haha. I want to do something like this, but I have to work up the courage!

  • Thanks I'm training to be a hairdresser at the minute I love watching you tube vids for diff techniques can be difficult to follow the colour ones sometimes because our wella and colour products are totally different to yours our wella bleach is called blondor :) but u are one of the best hair gurus I've found keep up the good work :) x

  • @spoons2007 Thanks! Your sooo sweet! XO Tammy

  • Looked great at the end :) but is the wella light a bleach did u add a toner ?? The 4.0 in Ireland in ion is nearly black the America colours must be different hmm looks gorgeous tho :) I done ur long layer cut the other day it turned out fab uv a great way of explaining thanks for ur vids :) xx

  • @spoons2007 The 'Wella Light' is a bleach. I did not use a toner, because I lifted it to the point that I didn't think she needed one. I left the blonde a little gold because her natural color is so ashy that I thought a more golden blonde complimented her. To be honest I thought that the dark brown would come out darker, but her hair was so resistant that it came out more a level 5 then a 4. You have a good eye for details when it comes to color. Thanks for watching:) XO
