Isn't it because we are inspired but what we know (Human Body) and apply to man made things, because we know they work. We know that arteries transport large amounts of blood through the body so lets build wide roads so we can send more people to work, or did I miss what he was trying to say? This video was too short. Perhaps it's the opposite. Humain beings made technology patterns compared to natural pattern. exemple: the computers patterns are inspired of Nature. I don't believe they developped independantly. We're too much close to it to not perceive it and getting inspired. Also, they forget that we are part of Nature, that's why our patterns aren't different from the animals' or organism's patterns.

@zezt Of course cities are really bad for the environment; this guy is just trying to say there are mathematical patterns everywhere, and when you look at a city by itself it looks very similar to other systems in nature. When you look at the system of a city interacting with nature, it can be viewed as a cancer since the city pollutes and destroy nature.
