Is there a school somewhere that teaches NPR personalities to speak in that characteristically whiny, nasal, pretentious, grousing voice? Listening to Ira is like dragging oneself across shards of Glass on a concrete floor. Indeed, almost as excruciating as Diane Rehm.

Ira speaks very quickly. I used to think they speeded up the tape on his radio show to get this effect. Love his show and, of course, Terry's. She is just amazing. Wonderful voice and wonderful brain and chuckle. Hey, I'm disappointed Terry isn't included in your tape.

You can tell Ira is a radio man the way he reads straight off the paper. Pretty bad to watch but, as Ira always is, great to listen too.
