  • @Giaguaro2003 bold dancing?

  • You all converse of what language/dialect this is. The language spoken here is 'music'. It's music that brought us all here, in this virtual world. . . and with this particular music, we all feel the same. That people should be kind, practice peace, and love much. There's no reason for the hate and war amongst us. I dream of a time that my little Boy does not have to turn on the news to view murder, hate, and war. Much to be learned from children my friends. . . Peace and love to you all

  • @metrotek5 the language is tokelauan

  • Malagasy are austronesians tho...just like us Polynesians..

  • Taloha Ni, love your music and blessing to people of the pasifika and the world.

  • Hi im from The Netherlands, this is my favorite song of Te Vaka. It has so much meaning if you take the content of the lyrics and see it in your own lives. And the music is just really beautiful as well, the singing n all.. great! And I've used the Kata kata mai song as my alarm hahaha it's always good waking up to that song. God bless you guys! (n gals of course!)

  • @MikeyTipunama What do the lyrics translate to in English? Is this song Tokelauan? Are you Tokelauan?

  • @Aoina376 I'm not Tokelauan myself, but I sent you the lyrics in both Tokelauan and English.

  • @MikeyTipunama Thanks (: Are you Polynesian? And this is my favourite Te Vaka song for the time being. :P It changes from time to time.

  • @Aoina376 No. I'm Moluccan, but born and raised in the Netherlands. Te Vaka had performed in Holland as well. Too bad I couldn't be there.

  • This was great! I love Te Vaka!

  • This is my first time to listen to this group...what language is this...they are awesome!

  • Iaorana, are they singing in samoan...

  • I think they are a samoan group, therefore they are singing in samoan, corect me if I'm wrong people=)

  • they not samoan..they are mixed of polynesia but most of them are tokelauens..but they are closer to samoa and they are singing in tokelauen..i kno cuz my ma is one

  • maori newzealand

  • It's closer to samoan rather than maori...

  • tokelau

  • I'm not saying I'm right, so people just correct me=)

  • Mainly tokelau...but they incorperate other polynesian culture and music in their work.

  • one year later...but te vaka is a group from New Zealand whos lead singer opetaia foai was born in samoa to parents of tokelau and vanuata ancestry...this song is sung in the Tokelau language, small group of islands just north of samoa. they are absolutely the best Pacific island group thereever was formed..

  • Your incorrect , Vanuata ? ( Vanuatu ) , Nah bruz Opetaia Foa'i is of tokelau and Tuvaluan heritage born in Western Samoa

  • you are correct, I did mean Tuvalu not Vanuatu....he was born in the village of alamagoto, just south of Apia and west of Vaimoso....grew up in Vaimoso in the first half of the 70's and got to go to Alamagoto on a daily basis to play with family and store/church thru the Aai o Fiti...(tiny little plot of a village behing vaimoso and alamagoto...Love TeVAka, my all male dance group this year is doing a dance program with all tevaka songs..march 13 2010 Tempe Arizona

  • Tell me more about your event on March 13, 2010 in Tempe. My wife and I may like to travel down to Tempe from Cedar City, Utah and see your program.

  • we are part iof the Arizona Aloha Festival. this will be our 16th yr and it is from 9-6pm sat and sunday at Tempe Town lake. last yr we had about 140,000 ppl come thru in two days, so it is getting bigger. our group is on at 1115 on the mountain stage....u will enjoy it...

  • this should be the advertising for tourist wanting to tour, its nice, and beats the normal money hungry island promotions. well done~

  • Once again excellent work Te Vaka and thank you for exposing our unique & beautiful sounds of polynesia to the world to see!
