I have watched this video so many times I can't count them. This is the kind of dance that goes down as a classic. I knew it the first time I saw it even though I know nothing about Irish or Scottish folk dance or country dance or early American folk dance or country dance. Just the same, I knew I was seeing greatness. So brilliantly choreographed, so impeccably performed, it's electric.

I can not say it enough times. I stumbled across this video while researching American line dancing. I had never heard of clogging, but when I saw this, I knew I was seeing something great, a classic. An instant classic. As a dancer, you just know, even if you don't know a heck of a lot about the culture it evolved from, you see the greatness. This dance needs to be treasured and repeated.

I've been a cloggin fan for as long as i can remember. I've seen BMC on here, I also have the the video that this came from. Have even chatted w/past BMC dancers. This was AWESOME & i know clogging proud. You may modernize it some but, you've never forgot your roots.

The Bailey Mountain Cloggers are the clogging team from Mars Hill College in NC. MHC is located 17 miles north of Asheville. It is offered as an "elective" course but they are very selective of who they let in . I attended MHC from 1999-2003 as a music major. They rehearsed in the same building as the music dept so during wind symphony rehearsal we heard bluegrass in the background! LOL

I would like to know more about this group. Do these same people still dance? Or do the member/dancers of BMC change all the time? Someone mentioned having a video of them. I'd love to know where that's available, also who choreographed this dance because I think it's brilliant. There are some NICE moves and transitions there.

Great video! I was there for that performance. Do you have any more? There's a routine where they did the "thread the needle" step, where the guys jumped through their own legs. Sure would like to see that again.

this is so fun! i have an upcoming show and the dance team (so I) got to meet with this professional clogger and he taught us a lot of this. like the texas star and king's highway/ of course we aren't quite up to this level. lol we only clog for about 10 seconds of choreography anyways :)
