  • The convention is the same in physics for the polar coordinates, but not in math.

Eq. without the bad historical mistakes of callig particles "waves" and so on, go to youtube's Leonard Susskind's Lecture 9 on Modern Physics: Quantum Mechanics and carefully listen to his speech besides watching the equations he writes on the white board.
