I hit a tree root w/ my sled and bent the a frames and spindle back about 13 inches. luckily a mechanic in town could bend it back while we ate lunch and it only cost us 75 bucks. the worst part was when i was thrown over the handle bars and slightly busted my hood

dont even need ski's in that deep of pow-try it somtime, best if you have an old beater to use, they had metal tubs up front and all you have to do is drop the ski's off. just remember to lean way way back, very important when stopping-otherwise it'll launch your ass like a lawn dart-get the feel down and you can dive under the snow-its just like riding a jet ski, but a jet ski thats going through the woods and up mountains:D

The only reason he went to Polaris is because of their new sled that just came out...They let him have a sneak peek, he probably liked what he had seen. Then decided to switch. I used to have a Kawasaki Invader 440 that i was racing across a flat feild neir my place and my ski fell off too, I rode it home about 7 miles on 1 ski, But them old machines were super narow and tippy, and it was mostly flat open ground,

Now in the mountains with steep hills and twistys --that would be a challenge

The extended periods of each pic were kind of boring. My friend hit an embankment with his crossfire 7 and cracked his ski saddle, bent his a frame, broke his spindle, and bent his bulkhead so that his clutch rubbed againts it. Mucked up the whole left side of his sled. Interesting vid tho.

hahha nice. back when my dad was riding his Kawasaki invader 440 in maine he was going about 65mph and hit a washout. since it had leaf springs up front it couldnt take it and snapped the ski right off. he ended up riding 50 miles back to the house on one ski. hahaha

Chris will be back on a Cat in a couple years. the only reason he really made the switch was because they offered him more money.

it may not be $3000 for just the ski/shock assembly but if he hit the tree hard enough to break all that off it's very likely he damaged the bulkhead, probably ruined some of the motor mounts too

this may be an expansive sled, but its not $3000 for the a arm shock, spring, and ski. new the sled is $10,999, do the math for both ski/shock assembly that would be $6000, i dont think the rest of the sled is only 4 grand.
