  • They look like they are playing 4e...I specifically searched for Dungeons & Dragons! What a bunch of posers.

  • "DJ Salinger"

    God... fucking hilarious.

  • did the quality drop drastically??

  • Fake. This DM annoys me. Nothing natural about the delivery of the dialogue... Same with the others. It would have been more fun to just have a film about D+Der's. There has got to be some real players out there willing to be filmed.

  • @oakstave I personally know most of these guys. These guys would put most you D&D players to shame. I played with them.

  • This DM is either a master of sarcasm/acting, or a conceited braggart.

  • DM is less a "god" and more a storyteller.

Depends how you look at it.

  • his mum at 8:34

  • X3 i got pink dice for when i play dnd XP ish is a elf that can tunr into a kitty who was on the hunt for a unicorn to slaughter and make boots out of T.T never got there

  • 1: 05 lol

  • I REALLY REALLY DONT KNOW HOW TO PLAY D 'n' D PLEASE HELP ME

  • I want to go back to the days where being a nerd was unique and awkward. We give the world a few new ways to be douche-bags each decade and now suddenly everyone wants to be a nerd.

  • @bulldog300 Uh-huh. I am bullies, beaten, and many other things because I am a nerd.

  • i thank all people for liking d&d ur all legends

  • I hate version 4.0, and the original D&D was made in the 50s it only became popular in the 80s

  • @boardgamenerd actually it was 1974, and i have to ask, have you even played 4th? seriously dude its the shit. People bashing on it either never played it, are trolls, stuck up people who already bought all the 3 or 3.5 materials and feel cheap shotted, or dumb people who just follow who seems like the stronger side. Sure you can prefer other editions, but to hate 4th?

  • @Slyboogy07 yes i have played 4th for real. i definately prefer generic roleplaying. i do hate 4th. its no longer a roleplaying game its now a minis game. i like unrestricted roleplay and 4th has so many limiting rules. + spells are terrible in 4.0. it takes too much effort to get good spells.

  • @boardgamenerd haha ok then, youve never heard of house rules. you dont have to follow the rules to tje T

  • Campaggan: lol

  • mountain dew hits you for 6d6 thirst damage, no save.

  • I Play both D&D and WOW, In my opinion, BOTH games take deep thinking, it proves that the games teach things we never wanted to learn in school, Leadership, money mangement and most of all......Stragety

  • i have play D&D on a board game

  • stick to it ness, charisma, this guy is so gay he gives nerdy everywhere a bad name and if your like him you, then your delusional, thinking ur more smarter than people just cause u get make fun of, this man isnt smart he talks like a moron, and being a nerd he had to go through more than african americans is this guy 5 years old. WTF is this guy the biggest hippocrate ever, saying larping is only for total losers so he wont steep to that level. so he is saying hes a loser but not losery.

  • "...Trade Raistlin Majere for Hamlet any day."

    DAMN RIGHT, MUTHA!! XD

  • @Masterferret7

That's an easy pick... but would you trade away a great series like Dragonlance or something for the eradication of all the new 'literature' people come out with today?

  • Bullshit

  • -ran out of mountain dew- NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, im so sad...

  • I didn't really tell anyone I'm into the game cos the few people I told other than my closest friend called me a freak

But I'm proud to play d and d

  • I play a wizard, who got killed by a teammate while under a curse, so now I'm a ghost. Who haunts said teammate.

  • Actually, at my school, D&D's really cool. Well, I guess half of the school do'nt know what the hell it is, but that's just the girls. I am a DM and I have been searching for this video for such a long time.

  • "There is a guard though"

Lol. Oh how the players forget so quickly.

  • LARP: The epic version of D&D.

But D&D is still kind of awesome.

  • Umm.. that was the 2nd movie There is also an even worse movie just called Dungeons and Dragons.

  • Guys... Its a mockumentary... Don't get all serious about it.

  • I love D&D and this video makes me love it more haha

  • D&D was developed in the 70's! GET IT RIGHT!

  • dnd is not a fucking table top game!!!! fuckin new wave DnD noobs

  • It started out that way.

  • Memo to all non D&Ders: This is a not typical group or DM by any means. I struggle to divine whether this is a satire/mockumentary or just straight comedy. 4th edition is great and don't judge it by this vid!

  • true. 4th edition kicks ass. the only reason people hate 4th is because the invested so much in the previous editions and this new edition basically just threw all that out

  • not really . i got the core books for 4th edition and started playing with 4 friends . after 3 adventures we all 5 decided that the 3.5 edition was much better and so we just got back to 3.5 .

  • to each his own but you must be the only one who feels that way. the people i know who still play 3.5 will admit that it's not that good of a game but they still prefer it.

  • well..no i'm not the only one who thinks so and many people in forums also agree with me

  • @datskas that manu is also a significantly small minority

  • whatever ..... we both know that's not true.......

i.e. In greece, we have the core 4th ed rulebooks in greek and yet, almost 80% of the gamers play 3.5 ed although it's in english...

  • @datskas Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with 4th either... I would go back to 2nd over it... (save that I wouldn't have to because of 3rd and 3.5)

  • Ummm... Seems fairly accurate to me. Have you not been at a game shop? Perhaps an anime house *shiver*. Hell go to your local college's gamers club... *sigh* Beta males one and all. The Nerd has devolved to being a geek (80's def). An unintelligent, single topiced, pop trivia minded individuals with no trade skills and a dead end job. Essentially using D&D not only as a form of escapism but as a dominate life style. They spend more time playing the game instead of actually living.

  • Thats the stereotype anyways, people play D&D heavily for the social aspect of it as well you know. Whats wrong with meeting up with like minded people, to do something you enjoy? You have probably never met an avid D&D player in your life, yet are critizing them when you know nothing of what they are like. Everyone indulges in escapism, only in diffrent ways. Though I agree with you that some anime-tards can be downright freaky. o_O

  • Yeah, I have. I've been to college, in High School, I would play D&D on my weekends with friends, still it started to get a bit too serious. Most of them still work at Taco Time and the like, never having escaped the small town that born them. Instead of going out and trieing to get a career they spend their pennies on Larping gear and SCA costumes. They are poor in life but wealthy in their fantasy world. I escaped just in time. But in college I tried to join the rpg club, they were worse.

  • Though to be fair most of the college's Gamers groups were dominated by Anime people... So it was like a cluster fuck of Anime+RPG into how many tentacles do we fight today? I also interned with Dead Gentlemen Productions and helped with Dorkness Riseing (look for it on Netflix). My name i son several of their special features' credits.

  • In my own opinion no one is a geek no matter what they like. People call dnd players and the like geeks just because we like something thats not the social norm so whats to stop us from calling the football and sport lovers geeks because they like something we dont.

  • You will never understand.

I pity you, geek. (You have the wrong definition of the word ''geek'')

  • Oh and whats an "anime house"? Sounds like some anime worshipping cult.

  • Yes that is essentially it. It's an anime ONLY rental / retail store. You can get anime based games, merch and videos. I was dateing an anime girl for a while and thus was drug along for the ride. The store owner was fairly normal, but the "hang out" people were an extremly sad lot of basement dwellers who were 25+ living with their parents unemployed. I know this because I had to spend HOURS there at times, since she liked to game, ect. thus I played too, I know the "types" fairly well.

  • Oh by anime girl, I don't mean the creepy Otaku thing. I mean I had a girlfriend who was REALLY REALLY into anime... And Cos play... It was fun, but she really couldn't seperate the concepts of "fantasy" and "reality". "Magic doesn't exist Gwynn nor do elves." "How do you KNOW?! They could!" Ugh. Pain.

  • MOUNTAIN DOO!

  • Why is it that EVERY one that I have ever heard of that plays this GAME, is arrogant and self-righteous? lol, just askin

  • ... if I was to claim I wasnt self-righteous and arrogant.. does that make me self-righteous and arrogant..

  • DnD wasn't "Developed in the early 80's by dice obsessed tolkien fans."

The original boxed set came out in the

70's. And Gygax stated in a interview that LotR had litttle impact on the game itself, except for a few monsters that they plaigarized.

  • its a mockumentary, its a parody of D&D.

  • hmmmm darn those "Cam pag ins..."

  • u sound like its a bad thing!!!! i play this game i also play football for my high school, and wtf is ur prob with some dudes playing this game and having some fun??

  • I did say "nerds". There's a difference between people playing it for fun, and people thinking it's a job and they must do it every single day. No problem with thrill seekers, there is a problem with obsessed people.

  • how many people you know like that anyway? O.o.. cause it kinda seems like you just pulled that example out of your ass..

  • I'd use the term Geek, but you are accurate in your assertion. Some people, like WoW heads, can't lay off the crack.

  • You mean cant lay of the 'Craft'... - Cheesie joke.!

  • The DM is a bastard though.

No stereotypes, not because he games, even spite of him being a DM, he is a bastard.

  • all DM are evil!!

  • I know mine is.... OMG YOU GET HIT BY A GIANT FLAMING PROJECTILE YOU ALL DIE...

Well isn't there some possilbe way... the ground maybe it was sof...

    YOU ALLL DIE!!!!!

  • That's why I prefer the term- Game Master ;D

  • i still wanna play, but i cant find no one to play with.... it sux... plus i dont have the stuff for it....

  • I have seen stats that showed that people in there 50s are still playing dungeons and dragons, its becoming less of a stereotype of a game. There are 7 of us in my group (3.5) and two of them are female

  • ..and no I'm not trying to say your lying about there being ppl in their 50's still playing, because I know the truth of it as well. Almost got to play with a guy as old, as the GM(dm)

  • OK gamers, if this brings back memories or you are still actively playing and are part of an adult group, plz check out my looking for group video!

  • D&D (RPGs in general, at least Pen&Paper) is still considered a "nerdy" outsider game. I do not know why the video states this may have changed. Whenever you mention "tabletop-rpg" to someone who is not socially challenged, they will chuckle or roll their eyes.

I am an avid roleplayer but I have always been wondering why 95 % of RPG (P&P) players are so strange. Sometimes I find it hard to relate to extensive "geekdom" you encounter at gaming clubs or conventions.

    Any thoughts ?

  • you havent played with enough P&P players. My old groups were all metal heads. Long haired, mosh pit types. Our games were not full of the "geekdom" but I honestly think it might have been even more fun if we had let ourselves explore that part of the game. It is a fun game, just ask Vin Diesel, he used to play...

  • as jharrod123 said, my group consists of 5 males (4 of em are longhaired, 1 had to cut his hair, our master) and the last ones the masters girlfried (unnessasariy to mention that she never dies...). only one of us is a guy how could be described as "classical nerd". so i personally think d&d has changed, its not only for geeks anymore. oh, were metal heads too! xD

  • When i started with my old group, most of us were considerd what you could call "geeks".. we werent exact stereotypes (like the guys playing Magicthegathering in the councellors office every lunch).. but as time has gone on, I still find myself rather interested in GMing again, and the people who insist on me starting a game again, are far from geeks and nerds by this point.. (note- completly different ppl then when I was in high-school)

  • I play P&P and yes some people have decended so far into geekdom that you can't have a conversation with them about anything else

  • this is funny. the joker guy usually gets booted though. but it's still funny.

  • Think the DM toots his own horn enough? I hope he's being sarcastic

  • Clue in the description: mockumentary :)

  • I think this is scripted and staged. You can tell from the bad acting.

  • No shit sherlock...

  • couldnt resist, don't get set up for it very often any more, but here goes.

    Dig a little deeper Watson.

  • lol the guy who was worrying all the time reminds me of someone in our group...not everyone who plays are nerds : / haha

  • DM is a bony, oily, acne-laden, balding dork.

  • DM is kind of a jackass.

  • I'm assuming most of this was done tongue in cheek...

  • Wish our group could go twice a week. We can sometimes barely play twice a month! Our games usually end up going for six hours, but that's just because one of us has school to go to the next day.

  • Can someone tell me what s the connection between D&D and those games under such title such as Neverwinter Nights, IceWind Dale & Baldurs Gate

  • they are placed in the Forgotten Realms maybe? lol.

    Drizzt forever man!

  • Also, they are based off a more streamlined version of the tabletop mechanics minus a lot of skills and things that make those games more linear and possible.

  • this dude is fuking retarded !

  • Larping is awesome. I want to do it so much.

  • Larping Owns

  • Geeks for Life!

    Go Dnd!

  • Word! :)

  • Dude that's nothing... we usually go 8-12 hours on a session

  • I wish our group could run that long, unfortunately we all have to get up for work the next day. We sometimes manage a 5-6 hour game on a saturday.

  • I knew it, knew it, 3 minutes in the film my suspicions were confirmed you do in fact play world of warcraft. My man, way to be.

  • You sir are a NERD!! I am a NERD!! Have some pride sir!

    NERD PRIDE!!

  • WEWT! WEWT!

  • NERDS UNITE JUST STARTED PLAYING TONGIHGT WELL IF U consider 6 of us who have never pllyaed before tyring to figure it out and after 2 hours we just put peices down and moved em and attacked lolz

  • @Sunkincid no... nerds are different from us geeks. Nerds act smart and have less of a sence of humor. Geeks are smart but don't run around acting smart and they tend to have a good sence of humor and play a lot of games like d&d. Geek pride my friend... geek pride...

  • 5 YEARS GOOD GOD!!

  • And I thought the 2 year campaign we ran was long... Jesus chryslor

  • I've been running a campagin for about ...3 years? Every saturday. Except for one month when I was in a mental hospital.

  • Yeah, i had that too

  • mental hospital? what heppened?

Did your character die? and you couldn't handle the reality?

  • No. Forced to work 19 hour shifts at work, every day, with a crew of idiots for over a month. That was the breaking point, other reasons too. Never over dungeons and dragons.

  • Thats a relief...

  • WHAT!!

    WHAT!!!!??

Maybe is better than 4th Edition...

  • wow. i love this.

  • no, just no, and in case you didn't hear me... no

  • You sir...Are retarded.

  • You sir...Are retarded

  • I'm partial to Battletech myself XD, But they are all fun.

  • Therefore, you are fail. No amount of Warhammer epicness, can ever compete to the greatness of D&D

  • thats heavyily debatable but i see what your saying but i believe they're on par

  • SWEET

  • I love the champagne glass of mountain dew

  • Oh my God the music!

  • HOLY FUCK YOUR MY CHILDREN!

  • SODA

  • He plays wow!!

  • The tuesday and thursdays part is kinda like me

  • yea whats with mountain dew and D&D players i get i don't help with the stereotype because i drink it too when i play but why mountain dew?

  • Cause its got more sugar and caffine than most sodas 8p

  • besides its cheap

  • its just cuz every geek who plays dnd like mountain dew, including me :D

  • damn straight

  • i prefer just pepsi or mug a&w rootbeer

  • they drink a lot of mountain dew they drink

  • i don't know why it's such a stereotype for gamers to drink mountain dew during sessions... my party drinks beer :)

  • I Love Moutain Dew

  • lol, i can imagine a drunk player

DM: The Orc charges at you-

PC: YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME *flips the table*

  • what about a drunk DM???

PC: What can i do here?

DM: You can Die! or you can die. or you can drink beer...(mumbles)that has been poisoned

  • no no no, its more like this,

PC: What can I do here?

DM: YOU CAN DO YOUR MOM!!!

  • We normally don't have drunken sessions.

    normally.

  • twice a week for 4 or so hours for 5 years, impressive, also

oh those crazy larpers and their sewer tunnel myths

  • Ha. I have that DM Screen. XD Ha. I would trade Raistlin Majere with Hamelet too.

Does he have the Eye of the World on his shelf? Cause I would hug him.

I LARP.... XD And that's a lot of Mountain Dew.

XDDD So she doesn't explode when you pork her... XD

  • holy shit thats exactly like my group

  • niice vid guys you should consider making more

  • MOUNTAIN DEW! It's elixer of the gods!

  • no SHARK IS THE EXLIER OF THE OLD ONES!

  • this is the funniest dnd spoof i have seen

  • its like the blacks...in...the revolutionary war.....

(yeah, too bad they have no relation)

  • That's the poimt.

  • Jock and nerd unity! I wish I still played. I used to "DM" at university. I haven't played since 3rd ed came out.

  • which university????

    deciding???

  • Melbourne University (Australia)

  • "Hearken! A Kobold..."

    "Hey...those are squirells man..."

  • These videos along with Fear of Girls are the best Dungeons and dragon videos I have seen up to date. Please make more! lol hilarious

  • haha i was thinking cool up to 7 hours of play, mmmhmm, one weekend i DM'd a 16 hour long story, man we were all so tired, we ended it in like 5 in the morning

  • Yea im a jock and sadly im addicting to lol. idk what the hell it is... just something really cool bout it.

  • lol he makes the best dnd jokes EVER ps dnd isnt for nerds im a jockish guy and i love to play it DnD FTW!!!!

  • Different strokes for different Folks I love the game

    I havenet played in yrs

  • what a nerd

  • He seems fake.

  • LOL THAT MUSIC!!!

  • D&D rocks man. If u say it dont i will kill u with my lvl 32 sword master

  • You think D&D is for losers? I can assure you there are plenty of folk that play D&D - You do have to be intelligent and have a imagination to play.

I live for the game - look at me - and my gf is sexy as hell

    myspace dot com forward slash

    sodano

  • this was hlaf funny i just thout that moutondew and D&D go to geather grate. lol and they are all geeks. but being "cool" is lame and boring. always have to worry about thing that dont matter. stupid things like that. geeks have real friends not fake ones who just want to be cool to. and this is how they have fun and talk to each other. anyone who has a problem with this must be really sdtupid.

  • omg i was looking up comedy and i got nerds lol

  • Screw you man D and D is not for nerds like this DM says its a hobby.

  • The DM is really complaining a lot. I've never gotten any BS about playing D&D, I don't know what he's talking about.

  • How does DnD break down into an arguement about stalagmites?

I feel sorry for the chick (all teh sexism) but at teh same time i laughed at the jokes that guy was making.

  • Did anyone else posting comments notice the category was "comedy" have a sense of humor guys its not a serious movie. btw i thaught it was very good quite funny

  • It´s sad that there is so many of those people that can´t let people to be themselves and do what they want/like. Glory for D&D!

  • Im a DM too and I like this game but what you guys are doing isn´t only playing this game you life ist !

Thats absolutly crazy. Guy like you prove the sugestion D&D is only for fanatics and nerds.

Im sad to have to say it but you are sick !

    Greetings from Germany

  • ...Ok...I didn't think he was that bad...Actually, this is kind of a guide 'How to DM' I must admit, he looked pretty good at it.
