The visions of his dead father gave Jack a huge incentive to want to go back, and the Christian that appears to him in the hospital wears the white shoes, and I am not sure MIB can manifest outside the Island. So it's funny that he appears to Locke wearing boots, and they even make it a point to show it in the Cabin.

Yeah I believe MiB took over christian's form for awhile until he was able to take on locke's form. heres an interesting idea...dead bodies on the island are capable of being resurected and 'changed' by the MIB, through some kind of dark mind control. We have seen this work with Claire, Sayid and Rousseaus crew. Mabey the same happened for Christian. He was dead when he landed on the island in the coffin, and was ressurected as a part of MIBs master plan to kill jacob. Everytime we have seen christian he has been working for MIB, manipulating the survivours to the points that they are at now..

@LucasW180 Your commented reminded me of this: I was always wondering why Locke's, Yemi's, etc. bodies were always still there in the physical sense, but Christian Shepard's was gone (circa the episode, "White Rabbit"). Jack even had to open up the casket to find his father's body was missing. It wasn't as if the casket was already open and a wild animal got to it.

He's not completely alive...I think the island is in a time-loop, back in time, maybe in 1996. That's why Locke can walk and Rose has no cancer, cause they are in the past. Have you seen the last episode of season 4, when Ben talks to Locke about the time machine? I think the "Hatch 108 minutes job" was to keep the island on 1996, on the time loop.
But, what happens to Christian, if he's dead, how can he be alive?

After acouple of repeated viewings, its difficult to make out through the birds and the sound Vincent going through the plants, but is that sound of the plane's engine that keeps revving up in the background during Vincent's POV?

If it was a real resurrection, the others would have found him and invited him to play in their reindeer/polar bear games. Another manifestation of smokey. In fact, all dead people on the island are manifestations or dreams.

Christian is only alive because his body is on the island just the same as why Ekos brother can be seen by locke and eko and why locke can see boonie in his dreams if your dead and your body is on the island then you are resorrected

if you body is BURIED on the island then its safe but if not it can be taken the from of like christian and ekos brother. but if it is buried then it cant be, that is why in the newest episode of season 6 when the fake locke saw the kid and the fake locke was yelling you cant tell me what i cant do that is because when they buried locke the facke locke started to loose control

i dont knwo where people are getting these ideas from. John Locke is dead, buried at the beach. The MIB is not posesing his body, he is mearly using his form, like he did with ekos brother and alex. Hes not using the actual bodies.
Personally, i think MIB is a guardian to a greater power on the island, where as jacob protected the island himself, and they play games with the mortals of earth by bringing them to the island, much like the gods did in ancient greek mythology.

@LucasW180 Your commented reminded me of this: I was always wondering why Locke's, Yemi's, etc. bodies were always still there in the physical sense, but Christian Shepard's was gone (circa the episode, "White Rabbit"). Jack even had to open up the casket to find his father's body was missing. It wasn't as if the casket was already open and a wild animal got to it.
This doesn't seem to flow with the MiB's other forms. Has anyone else pondered this?

@HeibesHealth i did this that, but i think christians body was being manipulated. but the christian shepard that we saw in episode 3 was infact the smoke monster, as proven, he lead jack to the water suppy in the caves

@LucasW180 I know that the MiB in Locke's form told Jack that he was the one who led him to the water, but I'm still confused as to why his body was missing. When you say "manipulated", what do you mean? Just curious. :)
As proven by the fact that they buried Locke's body, the MiB can't possess an actual body but rather take on the likeness of them. I just wonder where Christian's body is.

i meant like what has happened to sayid. he was ressurected, but his mind isnt right anymore. MIB has some kind of hold over him through which he can make sayid do anything he asks. i think that the same fate has happened with Christian. but i seem proven wrong now, seeing as MIB practically admitted to posing as christian. i wonder where his body actually is then, and eko's brother yemi's body...

Christian appeared to John outside the island and Christian appeared to Michael on the freigther right before the explosion, which was also off the island. So it doesn't completely make sense, that island sends your body back in time or something, because off the island Christian also seems to be somewhat "alive" and appears to people.

Well, he's almost alive, like a spirit, cause he was dead at the time that the plane entered to the island bubble of time. Why did the plane entered? because desmond forgot tu push the botton. This way, Locke can walk...You may say, for example, that Jack has his tatoos, and that he did it after his divorce, so after 1996. he keep them because they belong to his body, which doesn't de-age when he goes back to the past...same for Claire.

you mean Christian (back in 1996 when he was still alive) has been a part of the Others or maybe the original inhabitants of the island. Because he knows a lot of things about the island.

He's not completely alive...I think the island is in a time-loop, back in time, maybe in 1996. That's why Locke can walk and Rose has no cancer, cause they are in the past. Have you seen the last episode of season 4, when Ben talks to Locke about the time machine? I think the "Hatch 108 minutes job" was to keep the island on 1996, on the time loop.
But, what happens to Christian, if he's dead, how can he be alive?

yeah but if it was i dont think he would of bothered to manifest as christian to the dog. If going to the island makes your body revert back to its former self as it was at that time point like it did for lockes legs and roses cancer, why couldnt it do the same for Christain and bring him back to life
