  • Hello

I have the same specs as you except my graphics card which is an ATI 4890 HD.

I've been trying for some time to get OSX installed but all fail. Ideneb,Iatkos,IPC.

Could you be so kind as to tell me which distro you used or how you got it installed.

    Many thanks

    Alain

  • @ALAINGONZALES

  • I'm currently building a hackintosh and wish to include a Geforce GTX 285 card in my machine. So I got two questions. One what method of installation did you use to get your hackintosh up and running (EFIX USB dongle, Empire EFI, iBoot, Etc)? Secondly did you use the standard PC version of the card or the Mac Edition of the card?

  • @tamiasthechipmunk

Hey, first of all don't bother with the dongles, they're a gimmick.

I used multibeast since I had a P55 chipset, will probably work with other chipsets as well though.

I used a normal XFX GTX 285, the Mac Edition isn't even compatible with a "normal" PC.

  • @Dashing1256 Thanks for your help. Finding a standard PC iteration of the 285 was a huge challenge esp. one that has 1gb of VRAM. Mac apps that check VRAM will not run on the 2gb varient of the 285. But thank goodness I found the extract card you are using and that's the one I'm going with.

  • hi man...i've been wanting to do this. i was wondering if you could walk me through over msn or somthing, reply back if ur willing to help

  • @XxJakeex9

No sorry i wont roll anyone through the entire process, it's too time consuming for me. Use google.

  • @Dashing1256 Oh you. ^-^

  • who has sung this song..

  • @vasago2012

"A girl like me (Fugitive Mix)"

    No idea who sings it.

  • very nice build. well done

  • nice hackintosh. well done

  • Great! If you don't me asking sir, can I know what the manufacturer name of your NVIDIA GTX 285? I was wondering if I can get my card, specifically the Leadtek Winfast NVIDIA GTX 285 1024mb DDR3 512bit card working under Hackintosh. Thank you so much and more power! :)

  • @beatdown311

Hi, thanks for your comment. My card manufacturer is XFX, but really it doesn't matter. All manufacturers use the same reference board.

You won't have any problems getting your card working since it's the same card also found in custom made Mac Pros.

  • @Dashing1256

did you made some modifications to make it work or did it work right out of the box? Thanks for the reply really!

  • @beatdown311

Nope, just use NVEnabler or use GraphicsEnabler = Yes in your boot.plist. I think these two tips and a little help from Google should get you up and running without much problems.

  • Cool! You can show the video at a higher load on the OS that would see its latency?

  • @freedomfidaj

Sure just tell me which applications to test..

  • @Dashing1256

for any, that for high load the CPU, for example such as video encoding...

  • What song is it?

How fast is you hard drive?

  • @PuffyProductions

The song is called "A girl like me (Fugitive Mix)"

    My HD is 7200 RPM.

  • Awesome ;)

  • @Hish001
