Who fricking cares about this expression or that. He's still a great looking man...and he's still the same charismatic Burt...with that extremely wry sense of humor he has always had. I guess you either "get" Burt or you don't!! He's definitely one of a kind and a true legend. I just wish I could see more of him...and I dearly hope he stays well for many more years to come! Love to BR
He had quintuple heart bypass surgery at the end of Feb 2011 so any grimace or sharp intake of breath could have been pain or discomfort based. He did move as he made the facial gesture so I wouldn't read too much into it.
@reelforreal - I don't think the face was made for Jerry Reed & his family. I've noticed Burt in interviews the past year, he makes similar faces. Maybe it's due to age or pain, even? I don't know. It's a shame the only way I can see new Burt stuff is on here & not in the theater.
REPLY - It's just the way BR is...it's part of his "character". He makes certain faces all the time - nothing to do with the "subject" or "pain".....it's a part of him. I thinks he's AMAZING! I've always loved him!
@goose700 I don't know. There might have been. My guess is his uneasiness about talking about death. Or his sadness at the loss. Though there could have been some kind of rift with Jerry, or with his family after he died. One can only speculate.
@goose700 No rift between Reynolds and Reed's family. Jerry Reed gave Burt Reynolds credit over and over and over again for helping him. And Reynolds loved Reed. If you get the Smokey compilation DVD, Reynolds talks at length about the contributions Reed made to the movie as an actor and composer. A little bit of trivia- Hal Needham originally wanted to cast Jerry Reed as the Bandit! I'm sure Burt misses Reed and Dom DeLuise.
Movies such as "Deliverance, The Longest Yard, Smokey and the Bandit, Hooper, Semi Tough, Sharky´s Machine, The Best little Whorehouse in Texas, Starting Over and Boogie Nights" made him immortal.
Besides, he was the Number 1 Box Office Star for five consecutive years. A record unmatched to this day!!!!
Burt is The Man.People have no sense of history. All the respect in the world for this guy who was five years straight Box Office King of the World. Nowdays, there are no stars, just a bunch of overpaid spoiled brats. Brazil loves you Burt. You`ll always be Number One in my eyes.

Long before there was Ryan Reynolds there was of course Burt Reynolds (supposedly no relation between the 2 actors & I don't buy any of that crap.)
Burt Reynolds > Ryan Reynolds x100

Burt got a little uneasy when Jerry Reed's family was brought up.
reelforreal 1 year ago
@reelforreal I saw that. Why would he get uneasy? Is there a beef between Burt and Jerry's family? I'm big fan of both men.
