@AtarashiNOhi hey, actually found what it is. its the Lanna alphabet used by the Dai people.. it all makes sense now since the Peacock Princess was a tale told by the Dai people. thanks for the help anyways :)
I thought there was a hmong dubbed version of this movie? Does anyone know what hapened to it. if so please tell ASAP because I was pretty sure there was a hmong dubbed version but now I can't find it?
Yep, there's actually two hmong dubbed versions. The oldest version is: Huab tais 7 leej ntxhais where I think they translated the hero's name to: Nuj Sis Loob, and the other one they kept it closer to the movie name: Zhaoshuntun. It's been a long time since I've watched the hmong dubbed versions. Not sure why it's not on yt.
Do you maybe have any clue abouthow to find the German dubbed version? I watched it in the early 90ies, I guess it got via the Russians into the GDR in the 80ies and was then shown on TV...but can't find it online anywhere.
wow this movie is so old and yet is still being loved by so many people after 25+ years..this is one of my fav movie i remember watching this movie when i was little just that bird man still scare me...
Do u think u could send me the subtitle file or tell me where I can download it? I bought the original DVD a couple of years back and it didn't have english subs but, I wanted it so bad that I bought it anyway. I'm still trying to look for subs so, if u could give me a sub file or tell me where I could find it, it'd be great! Thanks!
The instrument is a hulusi (it's what the prince plays when he's waiting for the princesses to come back and swim in the pond). I always wanted once since I was little because of this movie, so I picked one up when I was in China a couple years ago. But I have no idea how to play it...LOL.
Yes this orignal story is Thai or Lao story called "Thao Sithon and Nang Manora" It is really show how stereotype between Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in our culture. Sad. But Chinese bring it to movie is really nice.
I love the Clothes and the Hair Accessories! that they put on their hair! I'd Wished that They Make those and Sell them. Does Anybody knows if they Still make those Chinese Hair Accessories??
thnx for the upload, btw, is this originally thai? judging from their clothes, but also reading their lips matches the words as well, dang, wat a mystery! haha
i was looking for the soundtrack too. I guess they probably didn't have that back then. It's a wonderful folktale and the movie is just as beautiful. Thank you for uploading.
omg. my all time most favorite childhood movie is here!!! I so love love love this movie. I remember watching it like super many times and I remember wanting to be pretty like those girlz.. ahahh. "D...

i have this movie but it's in hmong. I have the one that hmong world promotion dubbed and i didn't like the voices. some of the voices anoying and very confusing. thanks for the up load of the orginal. Love ithis movie so much. When i was younger, i could sing the whole song, now i can't.
i used to watch this movie over and over again as a little kid! "namanuna!" lol i used to want to put flowers in my hair like hers and wanted to dance like her! and the prince is so "pretty."

This is the original. The original movie is chinese & characters speak mandarin.
The clothes look thai because the story is inspired by the Dai people of China (I guess you could say these are thai ethnic minority living in China.)
