@AtarashiNOhi hey, actually found what it is. its the Lanna alphabet used by the Dai people.. it all makes sense now since the Peacock Princess was a tale told by the Dai people. thanks for the help anyways :)

I thought there was a hmong dubbed version of this movie? Does anyone know what hapened to it. if so please tell ASAP because I was pretty sure there was a hmong dubbed version but now I can't find it?

Yep, there's actually two hmong dubbed versions. The oldest version is: Huab tais 7 leej ntxhais where I think they translated the hero's name to: Nuj Sis Loob, and the other one they kept it closer to the movie name: Zhaoshuntun. It's been a long time since I've watched the hmong dubbed versions. Not sure why it's not on yt.

Do you maybe have any clue abouthow to find the German dubbed version? I watched it in the early 90ies, I guess it got via the Russians into the GDR in the 80ies and was then shown on TV...but can't find it online anywhere.

The instrument is a hulusi (it's what the prince plays when he's waiting for the princesses to come back and swim in the pond). I always wanted once since I was little because of this movie, so I picked one up when I was in China a couple years ago. But I have no idea how to play it...LOL.

Yes this orignal story is Thai or Lao story called "Thao Sithon and Nang Manora" It is really show how stereotype between Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in our culture. Sad. But Chinese bring it to movie is really nice.

This is the original. The original movie is chinese & characters speak mandarin.

The clothes look thai because the story is inspired by the Dai people of China (I guess you could say these are thai ethnic minority living in China.)

i have this movie but it's in hmong. I have the one that hmong world promotion dubbed and i didn't like the voices. some of the voices anoying and very confusing. thanks for the up load of the orginal. Love ithis movie so much. When i was younger, i could sing the whole song, now i can't.
