In the late autumn of 1942 the USA had fully entered the war in Europe and the three RAF "Eagle" Squadrons were transferred to the 8th US Air Force and became the 4th Fighter Group. The promise not to transfer any members away lasted a month.

If we really want to thank a country for helping in the Battle of Britain its the polish, now they put a shift in. The American pilots made little to no diffrence but the supports was appreciated all round i think.

This meant American Soldiers in the Philllipines would not be supplied. Many died in the Battan Death March. The USA had only fought Hitler we could have the Japs by ourselves in matter of 12 to 16 months. All massive and USA troops were sent Britian. Allot Americans died because U Brits were asleep at the wheel with Hitler.

There names were changed as their nationalities and you can check with the RAF and Wikipedia because there were 240 American Pilots in 3 American Squadrons. Without them and the high octane American Gasoline you would have been lost WW2. However you will have to do a little research and reading plus get off your lazy to learn the truth.

Some of the history came from the American Air Museum in Britain Campaign newsletter of in the fall of 2000. The first American to give his life in the Battle of Britain was Pilot Officer William M.L. Fiske of No. 601 Squadron He had taken part in the attack on the German seaplane base at Borkum on 28 November 1939.
