  • *New to 944* under the tach is that a miler per gallon gauge??

  • that sounds bad

  • Don´t push too much throttle in it!- its sounds like´the same in mine- the castor and fan belt is gone.... (hope google has it right translated ;)

  • eww...an automatic

  • it's a rocker arm dude

  • minor thing

  • I think I might have the same problem. Did this start out faint and get progressively worse? I have a clicking noise around the clutch under my engine. I thought it was an exhaust leak for the longest time.

  • Porsche's are made well enough not to have the exhaust make a sound like this. If your Porsche sounds like this, it's the damper.

  • Notice the centrifical force holding the pieces of the damper still and quiet during revs! Porsche sell the part for $990.00. Fix it! You'll have a true "Exotic" for half the price.

  • As more pieces of the rubber damper break off, it will get worse. Unfortunately, it's the worst engineered part of an otherwise outstanding car.

  • Pick up the after market Turbo version made of metal. You'll never have the problem again.

  • I have the same problem with My 944. It's the damper. Be prepared to spend $2,300.

    It's worth it!

  • its the damper, the bearings are fine.

  • Its the damper on the flywheel, it has chunks of rubber missing an needs to be replaced. New part is $800-$1000. One thing that someone has done is change the flywheel and install a clutch with a regular clutch plate so no more rubber.

  • lifters is what it sounds like
