sorry ciscokid but steve young was actually a lot different of a quarterback than joe montana and they shared the spot at quarterback for a while. he made montana leave. young was a great running quarterback which was rare even in his time young had a much better relationship with the players. in the locker room most of them thought that montana was the arrogant prick. he did great in college as well so saying hes not talented is simply wrong

@theonerory I didn't say he isn't talented and never claimed he was the same as montana. I said he is overrated and when you don't have the ability to make plays you need to run, or do something different. Now Im not saying he was so bad he had to run but montana came into a developing team and steve young was given a great one that was well oiled and already running at fullspeed. He was overrated, not a horrible QB but not as special as he is made out to be.

@Cisco777Kidd Are you dumb? Sitting behind a great QB on the bench does not make you great. Curtis Painter sat on his ass for years behind Peyton and he plays like some AFL reject. Steve Young was one of the best QBs of his generation.

Almost everyone from the offense to the defense was an above average player. So it is easy to take montanas place and coast to greatness. So cry about it, suck your thumb, and troll the boards. Won't change that he was a good QB but way overrated when compared to people like peyton which makes a whole team look good, or arron rodgers.
