  • I agree that a perfect diet will abstain from grains, but for the average high school kid - these are great substitutes. I would say less than 1% of youths are even this healthy when it comes to diet.

  • @philipee32 Grains have a protein called gluten that wreaks havoc on your intestines and causes inflammation throughout the body. Read The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf or check out Underground Wellness on Youtube fo more info.

  • good stuff here brett. and guys... there are probably zero young athletes who eat a grain-free diet... i agree that grains are questionable but be realistic here, very very few kids will eat a grain-free diet

  • @burn625 Very few kids will eat grain free??? Who is giving them the food? If parents were more educated on this and feed their kids right then we would see many of the problems we are seeing today including ADD (Yes ADD can be caused by grain consumption). Many of the learning problems kids are having these days come down to diet. Let's look at the child cancer prediction rate 1:2 kids will get cancer before the age of 18. This is now the same as adult cancer rates.

  • Great overall, didn't like the syrup in the milk, milk has enough sugar on it's own and people eat enough sugar in all the processed crap they eat throughout the day. Also agree that people should not drink that much milk anyway.

  • Real smart - grains and legumes (peanuts) great was to destroy someones health. The More grains and processed dairy, another health buster. Where on earth do you get your nutrition information from.

    2. Lectins

    3. Protease Inhibitors

    4. Alpha-amylase Inhibitors

    5. Alkylrescorcinols

    6. Molecular-mimicking proteins

    This is just to start with. You need to look carefully as remember the grain industry is big money and big corruption. People think grains are cheap - they need to remember they subsidize the farmers with our tax money - take away the subsidizes and see what happens.

    maybe I'm missing something here but if you are promoting healthy nutrition, going organic, and avoiding 'tri this' , hydrogenated oils, and chemicals, did you ever consider what's on the label on the chocolate syrup?
