  • Lesley Manville was brilliant in this film. Felt so sorry for the character she played.

  • Another gem from ML with brilliant performances from the cast....

  • this film creeped in and blew my mind

most fun iv had being depressed

  • Let's hope by the time they reach the age where they'll have to confront these aging issues--the more rabid on here will have gained some wisdom & compassion.

  • @kherold31 any intelligent person who understand anything about film, allegoric storyline, character development would appreciate this movie ... and then there a those one-eyebrow, cauliflower-eared flat arse numpties .. like you.

What's it like to be able to kill conversation once you walk into a room?

  • @kherold31 Good news for you, wanker, there's Green Hornet, and there's always Porky's to go back to. Leave adult drama to adults, thinking adults at that. What a neomaxizundweebie!

  • As usual, Mike Leigh paints a curiously patronising view of the English, as if we' re all rather childlike, sentimental, impressionable and stupid.

  • @festilina I hardly think Mike Leigh is trying to paint a picture of a whole nation with this film, he uses a select few characters to represent a select perspective of life, which he does well. I think this film would have worked as well with a number of nationalities.

  • Mike Leigh. Another stupid arragant British antisemite.

  • @shlomofeuerwerk How stupid do YOU look to intelligent people? Please deliberate .. an illiterate vacuous spunk bubble like you criticising a renowned artist like Leigh.

Can you spell 'cunt' at least? guess most of ran down your Dad's leg

  • "What cc is your car?"

British script writing at its best. Can you imagine this line in a Hollywood movie?

Is this what thet used to call 'kitchen sink realism'?

  • @carsanookdotcom

that's true...Hollywood movies are NOT even in the same class as any Mike Leigh film....
