Not trying to be rude but this guy bellow me, aphablueforce keeps trying to prove his point by calling people dumb and saying reread what he said. I can barely understand what he wrote in all of his comments D:
His songs are so well built musicly speaking, they not only have great melodies but are so well structured, and convey such deep feelings of longing and love, that i just admire him more and more. Yiruma u have such good musical background, it shows u had wonderful teachers, and u were a great student. So i have deduced, becos thats what it says on ur resumé, of ur studies in London.

Listening to his songs, makes me wanna run to my piano and play all day long. His songs are truly beautiful. I definitely want to learn to play all his songs.

I heard his room in England has yellow strips on the wall and he loves yellow. The reason for that is yellow looks like changing every moment by his moods. I saw it from Korean TV show. Nobody can guess this guy's depth. I wanna go see his concert again. miss his touch and kindness.

@juicy1989fruit I think you've heard about him but you should definitely listen "one summer's day" by Joe Hisaishi or maybe some Claude Debussy's compositions like "Reverie" or "danseuses de delphes"

I don't necessarily think there is a story behind, more of him just expressing a feeling through piano. Often when I compose, Im not thinking about anything in particular, just going with the flow, of where my emotions take me. @afrokid53

I've read the past comments way way back.,and there is a lot of hater that they "know" all about music based on the complexity. For me I dont care how complex I just like how he put emotion and effort in his song. It gives out a new genre of music. ( i think it is a new genre, xD) but anyway simple piece (that was they say) make it soothing to us. so just keep the rude comments to yourself.

You don't understand. There's no objective notion of emotion. However, there are objective notions of musical patterns, and Yiruma isn't in new ground. That's all.
@elevenwhy I think you're right. Well, at least on some points. Emotion can't really be "put" into music, but you must feel something at the time that it was written or when you listen to it. That feeling is different for everyone. You like listening to it, which means it probably makes you happy or something of the sort. It doesn't have to be sad or anything major, it could be something small. : )

I don't necessarily think there is a story behind, more of him just expressing a feeling through piano. Often when I compose, Im not thinking about anything in particular, just going with the flow, of where my emotions take me. @afrokid53

Nah, when u practice piano A LOT, ur hands will eventually get longer for sure :). I'm 1 of the shortest students in mai class but i have pretty long fingers and i can also reach 9 keys :)
I'm sure he gained his success by practicing too

I've read the past comments way way back.,and there is a lot of hater that they "know" all about music based on the complexity. For me I dont care how complex I just like how he put emotion and effort in his song. It gives out a new genre of music. ( i think it is a new genre, xD) but anyway simple piece (that was they say) make it soothing to us. so just keep the rude comments to yourself.

You can say you like this song and your opinion is valuable in itself.
However it's incorrect to suggest that ''emotion'' is something objective that can be put into music.
This music just isn't particularly original or musically revolutionary, however if you like it, well fair enough.
Personally, I like listening to it, but i don't consider it anything special compared to past composers.

You don't understand. There's no objective notion of emotion. However, there are objective notions of musical patterns, and Yiruma isn't in new ground. That's all.

@elevenwhy I think you're right. Well, at least on some points. Emotion can't really be "put" into music, but you must feel something at the time that it was written or when you listen to it. That feeling is different for everyone. You like listening to it, which means it probably makes you happy or something of the sort. It doesn't have to be sad or anything major, it could be something small. : )
