actually due to the way the F-body ignition is setup they are harder to steal than a regular mustang. & from what i have seen mustang pull the attention of cops way more than f-bodys due. like i said there alot more mustangs on the roads than F-bodys so cops tend to pay more attention to mustangs especially since alot more highschool & college kids are buying them now. lol Ghetto blasters will carjack you weather your in a Lambo or a beat up Pinto.

Mustang is a muscle car and the corvette is a sports car two different cars. One seats 2 persons and the mustang seats 4. No other car in the world has even come close to selling more units than the mustang period. Why buy a car the only one other person can enjoy a daily cruse when you can get a mustang and take 3 of your friends to enjoy with you.
yeah the modern corvette is a little out of the modern stang's league, espeically the Z06 and ZR1, they didn't really make them for the idea of competing with mustangs, they're ferrari/lambo killers, they're the poor man's super car. A mustang is about as much performance car as a mid range 100% totally un interesting BMW that wont even raise an eyebrow. Its a remnant from the muscle car past. When steel frames, pushrods and leaf suspension from a mideaval oxcart. A time when straight line performance was everything. Sure its got slightly better recently but still handles like a shrimpvessel compared to the real thing.
I fail to see how your reply is a response to mine; but I think from my statement it would be obvious that I am not satisfied driving a car as is off an assembly line, no matter what car it is. Well thats a very good arguement and its true.. in Europe we dont have that culture. The mustang was always a base for home improvement and therefore is easily lapped in its original state by a 1.8 Lotus Elise forexample. See in USA saloons with big engines is a cheap way to get the fun without the cost. Here in Europe where cars are taxed for engine size, output, weight, MPG and so on, they end up at a price where its hard to ignore the squeeky plastic interiour and low tech handling.
Janusha I have never heard the comparison put that way. It is a lot easier to understand where the euro people are coming from when the comparison is put that way. This American didn't know that Europeans were taxed on engine size, output and so on.
Oh europeans are taxed on lots of things.. USA arent bothered with that as they dont have a public-for-all-health system and pension system to run. If I bought a Mustang from USA it would come out badly in the taxing because of its size, power and weight. It would easily double in cost. Which would put it up against far better quality european sporty cars. In Europe, taxes for health and safety often comes from taxing cars, cigarettes and alcohol. All of which is espensive here.
Well a Mustang might not handle like the BMW but its certainly more exciting than the 3 series. In terms of price, you should be comparing the GT with the utterly boring 320d. As far as the excitment goes, there is simply no comparison. I'll be getting a GT soon even though I live in Europe.
In my country which is fookin expensive car wise you can get a proper Porsche (altho I cant stand them) and very decent BMWs or Mercedeses for the same price as a Mustang. Even a decent Ferrari 360 modena. and there is simply no way the Mustang can compare to any of that.

Plus the Corvette is a high performance sports car made to go against the Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911, and Ford GT's. The Mustang is a muscle car to compete against the Camaro SS, Challenger R/T, Hyundai Genesis coupe, and the Nissan 370Z. The GT500 is just if you want a Mustang with loads of power for an affordable price, and would later take on the Challenger SRT-8 and the Hennessey Camaro.

i got gt stang 45 anniversary. i also got an ol 77 f250 that sits high. it has a lift kit. i got a 77camaro lined up to buy im gonna run it over i will post it on you tube when the deal goes thru. the guy thinks im gonna restore it.
Roush did the one thing the mustang needed, a limited slip differential and definitely independent rear suspension. I mean it's still a big heavy American car but at least its possible and I would consider buying one if I was rich =]

mustangs still have the straight axle because fans love modding the cars for drag racing and a single piece axle is much better for that. independent rear suspension is better for cornering, and ford almost went to an IRS with the 05 but fans wanted the single piece. go figure.

Well a Mustang might not handle like the BMW but its certainly more exciting than the 3 series. In terms of price, you should be comparing the GT with the utterly boring 320d. As far as the excitment goes, there is simply no comparison. I'll be getting a GT soon even though I live in Europe.

In my country which is fookin expensive car wise you can get a proper Porsche (altho I cant stand them) and very decent BMWs or Mercedeses for the same price as a Mustang. Even a decent Ferrari 360 modena. and there is simply no way the Mustang can compare to any of that.

dude its no better jumping in like you did either. and like i said in another comment. its way too hard to be original with mustangs now. not even companys that make special made mustangs cant be original. i have seen alot of V6 stangs with roush and saleen body kits and letters on there cars. which is why i wouldnt by any of the current 3 pony cars.

all depends on what you like. its possible to be original most people leave them stock. my mustang is an 06 with 435 hp its not outstanding but it looks great and is superclean sounds awesome two 95% of mustangs i come across are no where near the level of mine but of those that are you can tell they put the time and money into to be better. its all about money and who can make tehres most original. its fun to just to modd them even though everyone has or had one its the same withh all cars

thats because a mustang is an import in your country which is why its more expenisve there. i got mine new for 22k and thats a GT. because i served in the military i got the hookup. and yes teh mustang does comapre to teh lower ends of bmw and mercedes there not that great unless you drop 120k on them

Plus the Corvette is a high performance sports car made to go against the Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911, and Ford GT's. The Mustang is a muscle car to compete against the Camaro SS, Challenger R/T, Hyundai Genesis coupe, and the Nissan 370Z. The GT500 is just if you want a Mustang with loads of power for an affordable price, and would later take on the Challenger SRT-8 and the Hennessey Camaro.

You definitely have a point in the fact that you can't compare a Mustang and a Vette, but the standard Corvette is a Sports car. The Supercar versions are the Z06 and the ZR1. Not bashing you or anything so don't get mad. I'm with you though in the fact that people need to compare Mustangs with Camaros, not Mustangs with Corvettes.

What about the new GT500?540bhp and smokes the new Camaro SS and Challenger SRT-8..of course it is more expensive but who cares!There is also still a bigger aftermarket for mustangs so the list can go for forever and make em faster..i still think the 2010 body style is way too retro,big and ugly.The body lines have almost been erased and thats what really makes a mustang standout..hmmm Ford?..

mustangs still have the straight axle because fans love modding the cars for drag racing and a single piece axle is much better for that. independent rear suspension is better for cornering, and ford almost went to an IRS with the 05 but fans wanted the single piece. go figure.
