  • Yep it did. How did you get the ink on the paper?

  • I created the ink appearing in After Effects, and imported it as a texture into 3ds Max. Then of course I had to animate the pen by hand, which just turned out okay....

  • right click it, object properties and maybe look around there. are you sure the top light has cast shadows?

  • Yup. I checked everything. I have no idea... it's really weird.

But that's ok... It turned out fine the way it is.

  • great vid! like it alot.

the reason theres no proper shadow is because your lighting is set up too low, and i mean like you placed it too low and the shadow is being cast farther away (you should know the basics of lighting, even in real life situations). So move the light up more, preferably a target spotlight. 4 stars :)

  • Actually, I thought that exact thing, and the light is fairly high. That isn't the reason, the problem has something to do with the tip of the pen. It's a separate object from the handle of it, and when I grouped it with the handle, something happened to it so that the tip would not cast shadows.

    Thanks for the comment though!

  • Great!

but at the beginning it doesn't seem like pen touching the book...

    glad to help ;)

  • Yeah, I know about that. No matter how hard I try, for some strange reason, there is no shadow cast from the tip of the pen. I finally gave up and rendered it out, but they guy I made it for liked it anyway.

    Thanks for the comment! =D

  • I like it:P

  • Thanks man! =D
