AMEN equal responsibility!!!! Im a Amateur Owned & Trained and some of the earlier things I heard that is reaching but on this Part 4 I AGREE 100% I got a horse with talent and would like to see THAT be the focus.
As the man said in this part, Most of the owners Only want Their horses to WIN in the show rings! So they turn a blind eye to what is actually going on! I've been to TN, as I'm only in VA & have talked with people, as I'm a talker! Lots of horses are left in TN at a trainers barn & Only seen the week of the Big shows! They could care less about the horses well being, it's all about ribbons & money, money, money!
I agree. I think there should be DEFINITE jail time for anyone who sores horses. And ALSO hefty fines. And they should be banned from shows for 2 or 3 years minimum.
Isn't it sad how those who are in the thick of it will hear first-hand evidence and STILL won't admit there's a problem? I truly believe that until we remove pads, bands, chains, and the like from the show ring, then these horses will continue to be abused due to ignorance and self-righteousness. We are dealing with a society that is ingrained and immune to abuse. It's high time their access to abuse is shut down.
The USDA only has $500,000 a year to enforce the horse protection act. It actually only attends about 10% of the shows because of lack of funding. When it does arrive to a show most people load up and go home or about four times the amount of violations are written by the inspectors as compared to them not being there. The reason the walking horses have more inspections is because of the abuse you say does not exists. There was over 400 horse protection act violations at the 2009celebration
The Dead Sea was only sick when this video was made!!! These horses do not look like this in today's world!!! Our horses show into their twenties!!! My horse trainer has a college degree. This is total BUNK!!!! We have more inspections than any other breed in the World!!! I would like to see Barrell horses pass this same scrutiny!! This guy is full of BS. USDA inspects us for hours before we get to show!!! This guy knows nothing about TWH.
As an owner and breeder of sound Tennessee Walkers, I agree that the owner as well as the trainer should be held responsible with possible jail time in order to stop this abuse. This beautiful wonderful horse needs our help and we must hold the owner responsible so that we can STOP this abuse.

This is a little strange. You are operating in the dark. Show your face. Indentify the individual who claims I have little or no education.
