  • 1:35 caddy is too slow for bus

  • My old '67 bug was unstoppable in the snow. I would wiz by 4X4's stuck. With the motor over the back tires it was a blast to drive in the snow. Im guessing its the same in a bus....

  • @huebear Yes. Same in the Bus and maybe a lil more grip because of the weight of a Bus. No doubt. Been a few times I have gotten through the snow than some pickups.

  • It starts in the cold weather ? Do you put in 10,40 or 20 50?? Whats the best for winter driving tune up you can give your westy??

  • @kenster38 I run 20/50 year round here in central PA. Hotter running engine with the 2.0 liter. Check your choke to be sure it's correctly adjusted.

  • @SteelersBus Works fine,i rebuilt the engine ,with new carbs, the originals don,t exist on the market anymore ,,,had to go with progressive carbs ,the choke works fine but takes very long time to warm up,take off can have a flat spot, but once it reaches 120 deg, works very good, hits 70 mph .I was affraid 20/50 would be too thick, for cold winters.1.8 1974 ,,,thx stealerBus.

  • Those old VW buses and campers have souls, unlike just about every other car on the road.

I'd like to see a spring or summer day in the life of your VW bus. Driving while listening to CCR, the Dead, and Iron Butterfly for your next 3-part video.

  • Great car looks like fun I'm still looking for one. Great Music, Good taste.

  • haha i just watched all three also haha. i dont think my bus has ever seen the snow. not sure of it but i dont think it has. i got a 78 camperpoptop keep bussin

  • Reminds me of driving my bus to snowy Syracuse NY and camping in the middle of winter in the hills of West Virginia.

What kind of a heating system did you rig to that puppy? I just wear the heaviest of wool sweaters to drive mine in winter.

  • One of the very bets vehicles ever, for driving in snow! :D

  • Thanks for all the kynd responses! It is a blast drivin the Bus in the winter snow...sometimes!! LOL Thanks again...hope y'all enjoy.

  • How is your bus in the snow? I lock my tires up frequently on dry pavement :'{ and it's not as if I follow too close or anything, I think my brakes are balanced badly. It also pulls to the left whenever I stop.... I wouldn't dare drive it in the snow.

  • I think you either have bad brakes or really worn tires. Get it checked out before you regret it!

  • The tread is actually very impressive. much less worn than my car. The front left tire locks up, I've been in so many near death experiences its not even funny. I jokingly admit that our song(the van and me) is Blue Oyster Cult's (don't fear) The Reaper XD

  • Then your brakes need some TLC. 10 yrs in a Bus...the only time my tires lock up is when I jam the brake to make them lock up. Which is a very rare occassion. GET THOSE BRAKES LOOKED AT!! And while you're at CHANGE YOUR FUEL LINES!!

  • it's ok, me and my dad went thro the front brakes a couple weekends ago. New pads and lines. The old right front brake line, the rubber half, had fragmented inside and clogged itself(common problem) so the right side was always braking a little, but wouldn't compress when I hit the brakes. Thats why it would pull slightly to the right when driving, and pull to the left when braking. After we were finished I drove it around. The difference was night and day. Now I CAN stop faster than a semi XD

  • agreed

  • i just love the fact of driving an aircooled vw in the snow! i've just watched part 1 + 2 aswell, an i think its awsome. thanks for posting all ur vw vids
