  • HADUUUUUUUU KEN!

  • Looks like pure bullshit to me. Given that James Randi has offered anyone $1M for any proof of psychic ability of any kind. No one has been able to do it.

  • this guy looks like charlie sheen

  • I like Vasiliev, but music like from old USA porno films:)

  • @luqman: the best explanation I can think of is that this is to avert a fight that doesn't have to happen, not end one that already has. Ericksonian induction can be quick and subtle, and Systema is partly a bodyguard's art--lowering someone's aggression and redirecting his attention could be better than knocking him unconscious in that context.

  • @erisiantaoist your trying to paint this in a positive light however he is simply manipulating the sycophant student in a group setting. George Dillmam, Yellow bamboo, etc the all do similar social manipulation. You couldn't induce a an aggressive stranger with Ericksonian induction, you can only do the above demos with students. Did you catch the part about 'he said he wrapped my thoughts around his hand'? Vlad by many reports can fight, that doesn't mean he doesn't try to manipulate people.

  • @LuqmanNaq agreed. in that social setting, with the hierarchy of respect, i.e., knowing who Vlad was, meeting the expectations of the exercising, being a willing volunteer, etc, nothing psychic is going on here.

  • check out derren browns one inch punch vid, now I know how he did it kind of...a lot of things happening, dynamics authority, respect, pacing and leading, expectancy and suggestion as was said, this is a form of hypnosis

  • I was waiting for him to pull out a lightsaber... He didn't, that bastard!

  • He's "teasing his ghost" like whipping cream into foam.

If you could see it, it would wrap up like cotton candy around his hand and wrist [thats how he gets his grip] its like a squeaky ghost like sponge/cloud? ~When he draws it out of you [his chest], your sense is to follow his motion/intent because... well... because he is moving you for you! your compelled to do so.

This is the unseen principles at work.

  • This can do and achieve results only if the firm decide to die, but before that want to kill as many people. This knowledge for the soldiers as cannon fodder, and not the fat man in the street.

  • i would have to experience this first hand to be convinced. but being a practioner of martial arts for 31 years i believe in the energy.

  • BULLSHIDO.

  • LMB-OFFFFFFF!!!!!!

    X-D

  • you dun noe wat u are talkin about young man if this was useless they wouldnt even taught this to the spetsnaz

  • and what is practical application of this ?

do u expect your opponents to stand there and watch your arm until he gets dizzy ? show it fighting someone real . these demonstrations are total bullshit , not good in real fights

  • The application is to entice gullible, egoistic and delusion people into believing in 'the system', it works. The 'technique' works via the mental manipulation of a highly suggestible and compliant student in a public setting (which will decrease the likelyhood of him not 'going along' and embarassing the teacher). It works extremely well... I used to be a member of an MA cult and participated in these 'demos'. If anyone like this stuff of but without the pyschic BS check out 'softwork'.

  • You explained it well , conscious technology What about doing a reversal on the teacher ?

    lol

  • I would love to see you , the non-believer in an demonstration :D, just you know..to prove your point.. I am more than sure that you are not gullible :)

  • Been there done that.. that's how I know how it works.. one thing you need to always remember is they never choose a 'non-student' to do this stuff on, that should tell u all you need to know. There are people around the world who can do some 'strange' things but they don't do it in the middle of martial arts seminars. Have you seen Leon Jay and the Kiaii master try this stuff on people who aren't there students? (available on utube) hilarious.

  • lol must watch it then :)) , but idk some punches seem preety though

  • how many real fights u been in buddy? lemme guess... u gonna say heaps, right?

  • i dont get the point of these 'psychic demos', i have been to a few systema classes and i do like a lot of the things it teaches you, its mostly about thinking on your feet and adapting as you go along, but i have never seen or participated in a demo like this, i would obviously love to have it tried on me just to see if it does anything, but being a realist i severely doubt it

  • Perhaps there are more things in this world than your philosophy doth admit.

What are you gonna do if you're wrong?

  • well thats why i say i would love to experience it 1st hand, i would probably go in with a slightly skeptical but nonetheless open mind

  • @jalidav1 also would love to experience it 1st hand. would not go into it with an open mind. would go into it with the idea that bullshit washes off real quick.

As I say, there's no substitute for 1st hand experience.

  • Whats going on is the same thing that I do as a practicing hypnotist which ive done to many somnabulists. Its called Suggestion. If someone is in a position of authority and you hold them up and you believe what they say or accept it, you can make it a reality. If i saw im going to starting moving my hand and your going to feel relaxed, the moment you see it and accept that you are more likely to start getting relaxed, your accepting the suggestion. Same thing happens here.

  • Hi Burturns33

Seems you are projecting your experience onto this.

I am sure it is quite different principles at work, though he doesn't really show them so much in this video. Look at other ones, I suggest.

  • It's like going for a run for a half hour.

Most fights will only last a couple of seconds but refining an ability beyond the point of application makes it more applicable.

  • fedor uses this when he punches, watch his feints before he drops the hammer and u can see how the feints put his opponents into position right in front of the hammer maximizing the power of its impact rather than grazing or not hitting square allowing kinetic dispersion of the energy from the blow, this is standard in many eastern european h2h combat systems,u can also see mirko sway his shoulders to position his opponent for the left hi kick

  • Fedor doesn't use this bro... he doesn't 'cut psychic strings', or play with memories or any other nonsense like what is said on this video. What your talking about is simply feinting and positioning which every combat sport on the planet teaches, wanna see top level? Watch Floyd Mayweather Jr, or Pacman.

  • exactly, a feint is merely a suggestion to spark a response, yeah pacquiao, used to watch him fight in marikina back in the day, he didnt fight like he does now, roach really developed him from a slugger to a boxer,

    however,

military service at coming of age is required in the country and with basic training (rifle disarming, basic h2h etc.) this is included in the curriculum. i can not explain in english how to translate, i will say it is a science not anything mystic or magic

  • it doesnt work in a real fight- its just an excersize, do pushups work in a real fight? no- get in a knife fight with your opponent and start doing pushups, maybe he'll get scared NOT. its just an excersize because in a fight is a war, and psychology is a principal aspect of war- there is no better way to destory an opponent then to destroy his psychie, all this no contact stuff is just excersize for psychological warfare. obviously its not meant for the real combat, nobody thinks that!

  • @XIPM3 tell me what application or attribute this develops in relation to combat? Push ups help endurance and strength which are needed for combat what does psychological suggestion of a student in a group setting have to benefit those who are interested in combat.

  • @LuqmanNaq i am not entirely sure what your question is. if you destroy your opponent psychologically he isn't going to fight you, i am by no means a combat expert but i do have some experience.

  • @XIPM3 In this manner? How long did it take to induce the 'uke' into a suggestible state? How long did it take to create a relationship of 'trust' like the one that the guy obviously has for Vlad? In this context and the way it was demo'd it has no application for self defence. You can destroy your opponent but to put it quite simply if this worked, all trained hyopnotherapists would be uber deadly streetfighters.

  • For exemple, the "No contact combat 2" vid starring the scary bald guy seems much more real-life applicable.

  • The difference is that this is working from static position. No comabt 2 is with someone who is alreday moving.

This doesnt work on everybody but then neither do some traditional ma moves. Its just part of the tool box.

  • Fair enough. First part is true and second is probably the best answer one could get. Anyway, systema is no joke.

  • Systema is a fascinating technique but this is crap. No matter how skilled is the practitionner - and I know Vasiliev is - I just cant buy the idea of no-contact. Though some part of it seems actually applicable - when it's about creating the illusion of a support point and then removing it when opponent's body engaged toward it - all the "mental waves" part seems genuine BS. Just wish to see it outside a dojo filled with highly influenced students.

  • system definitely has some deep stuff this is one of them and its not for everybody and as far as I know it doesnt work with anybody, its just a demonstration and a small part of systema. Definitely not the best way to show systema to the world of marial arts cuz they wont understand and will say its BS inmeadiately. This works, systema is great its just high tech self defense and not for everybody

  • Systema contains some really useful and interesting stuff. Most of all is the method of teaching through drills and exercises that allow the body to understand the work. It just seems a pity that for a while Vlad tried to sell systema through the psycic instead of it's strengths of combat efficiency, freedom of movement and scientific basis for movement.

  • I was at this seminar and you are right Vlad is talking about catching peoples memories. This and the no contact stuff was very popular when Vlad first came onto the scene and a lot of people brought into it. The ironic thing is that once peope realised that this is such a small par of what Systema is about and that the rest is good old fashioned contact and hard work numbers dropped to more realistic levels.

  • it's true... people come into our class, and expect magic... but when they see the type of work that's involved - the actual contact - some turn right around... like 'what do you mean we have to get hit, feel pain, etc.?'

on the other hand, those who buy into MMA marketing schemes (wear xyience shirts, and all), dismiss this as unrealistic...

either way, people don't seem to realise that this is really advanced work, and the result of years of harsh conditioning, combat experience, etc.

  • I can't get rid of the music, the music is on the vhs tape I sourced the clip from.

Vlad is basically telling the interpreter to concentrate on a recent memory, because an older memory is too "deep".

He then claims to "catch" the memory with his own mind and shake it about, disorientating the subject.

This is clearly a claim of psychic ability, and not a bad translation of "psychological" as some systema defenders say.

  • Good stuff! Unfortunately I couldn't hear much of the speech over the music. Can you repost it in text form somewhere? I'd love to learn more about this.

  • Someone who was a practitioner of Systema and Qui Gong tried to pushed me with one of their psychic throws but guess what...I never moved an inch. Every time a Psychic master goes to another dojo and uses his psychic energy or chi to throw people around it never works. It's just a psychological self hypnosis scam.

  • please drop the music

  • It is interesting style, but it does seem incredulous. The idea of engaging optical nerves is quite interesting though.

  • wow David Kirilov, good 2 see,so my systema friend showed me sum of this,he said a part of it is the way to confuse the ocular nerves by drecting them in patterns that cause vertigo,in other owrds a short termed dizzyness that can be directed given u had captured the attention of the eyes shiftin attention to both sides of the ears causing loss of balance as the ears are the balance points of a human being,he mentioned this is only part of it,can anyone sysema person elaborate

  • Ha! That's David Kirilov he is working with. He was one of my Systema teacher's in London. Awesome guy!! Wish everyone would stop making bitchy comments about Systema and Systema vs MMA, blah blah blah. Get over it. Certainly, don't be so quick to dismiss without having first experienced it yourself first hand.

  • somebody draw that kind of ballett masters to mma!we can see what happens then!

  • Instead of chatting on here go challenge Vladimir. He takes challenges with a smile.

  • as fighter he isnjust odinary in cage there is no possibility that kind of show to do.there punch is just punch and grappling just grappling;)

  • He wouldn't use that in a real fight. At least not that alone. It was just a demonstration. I have heard many stories of people trying to grappel with Vladimir say that it felt like they could do nothing against him. Almost like he had them beat from the moment he touched them. Then his punches wow they hurt.

  • agreed but all those people had great respect and that means that they feared teacher before fight!in real fight there would be no fear and no hypnoitic manipulation of words-i do this i do that now u would lose your balance and so on!what happens when grappler is bjj master!would u at last imagine vladimir easly manipulating him!so if he could do this on man who fears him and so are easly puppets in his hand that works!agreed!

  • im 180 pounds, the last mma guy i fought was 220, as soon as i eye gauged him as soon as he went for the shoot,he would not fight n e more, i gues cuz he coldnt see,i proceeded to break both of his pinkies as he kept sticking his hands out in fron of him leaving them open targets for some reason,i had lost many times to mma fighters prior to devising better & more affective tactics in dealing with them, lost more fights over all than i have won,but have won consistantly over the last few years

  • any of the self proclaimed systema masters who pretend their phsycic are out to make money...the proper systema guys tell you themselves tht all that phsycic stuff is a load of bull!! by the way Fedor Emelianenko fights in pride he uses a combination of systema, sambo, and jiu jitsu and absolutely kicks ass...his stand up punhes are clearly systema type

  • fedor is fighter just because sambo background.take that away what remains!he is quite a fust thats true but to say that it is because systema iss not simple thing to argu1e

  • i believe this is more meant to be about physcological dmage than anything . its not about channeling this bs physic energy everyone is bitching about . its more a dummy strke to open up the oponnent for more strikes . believe me i do systema and there is no chi/physic energy / BS involved , its just a dummy punch which should make the opponent flinch and show him your serious .

  • this stuff needs to be demonstrated under proper observing conditions by real scientists. until then its just a belief system. people have been making claims like these for hundreds of years, not one of them has provided any evidence.

  • this stuff martial art, not only systema have like this but kung fu and pencak silat as well

  • The Russian word "tropa" best translates into "psychological manipulation" rather than "psychic energy." Too bad it doesn't fit some of your paradigms for how things are supposed to work. Most martial arts systems develop this stuff more or less to some extent.

  • no, tropa=path

  • ur a moron man

Sinister said EXEACTLY what the fucking word means

how about you learn the language before making stupid claims about the meaning of simple words

  • I could be wrong but i thought this video was instructional not something to bitch and moan about this video not fitting into your own belief system ... thanks for the upload and the teaching

  • may be its some type of sugestive hypnosis.

  • Soviets did a lot of research into this. Google Wolf Messing or Experiments in Mental Suggestion which details the years of scientific research into hypnosis, etc

  • choreographed bullshit.

  • Retards!

  • very informative thanks

  • Is like some of NLP work popular in many places. Some similar principles and applications, though maybe more for specialised work

  • "Psychic" is not a right word. It is, rather, a bad translation from Russian of "psychological"- which has a VERY different meaning. Vlad never claimed to have any psychic power. What is being demonstrated is mainly how to use the person's _psychological_ reaction to percieved incoming strike.

  • I think you're wrong. I'm not saying that psychic power doesn't exist, I think it does... so theoretically it could be used in a fight.

The reason I say that I think he DOES believe in psychic energy is that I used to have the systema handbook and it talked about sensing which cup of water had been previously psychcially charged.

  • Psychokinetically power up your punches!

  • I have that book - the "water sensing" was an exercise he was asked to try while he was in the Spetsnaz. The Russian military brass were experimenting with "psychic" stuff (the US army ran similar experiments at about the same time). Either way, that exercise has nothing to do with this demo or with Vasiliev's beliefs.

  • OK fair enough, that example might not be the same as what is being demonstrated, but (I assume you have systema experience) are you agreeing with TheBishopSSR that Sassiliev never claimed to have psychic powers and that systema only uses psychological (not psychic) princlipes?

  • Vasiliev's DVDs go into great detail on all of this and he explains it in terms of psychology - fake-outs, suggestion, etc - not "psychic power". In my opinion TRS (the company the did the advertising for the DVDs) screwed up the general image of Systema pretty badly.

  • sorry, its all a load of bull. no such thing as psychic power and this is typical pseudoscience here

  • I have to say - you have no idea what you're talking about. You might want to do a little more research on what the Russians and Chinese were doing with psychic work in the '70s. I just talked with a DOD friend this week about the topic - the US was (is?) way behind. Learn a little bit more about the electromagnetic and frequency spectrum of the human body - you're WAY behind on this stuff. Hell, my dad was doing paranormal work in the USAF back in the 70's. Still, your loss.

  • I agree with you, StopMoColorado :)

    Cheers.
