For those who don't think this is real CG:

Look closely at 0:15. The dark marks on the lemons (shaped roughly as a "y") are the same on every lemon. That's because he is using the same material for every one and changing the shape and size to make it look more realistic.

I just don't get why if you have this kind of ability you would be making CGI renderings of things you can easily make with simple camera tricks..

Do something to show off your imagination.. something surreal to show this isn't just some camera trick.. Nothing in this video looked like it couldn't be done in RL without the help of Sony Vegas and some liquid nitrogen.

I'm not saying it's not actual CGI, but why something so bland of just fruits falling and some room?

The renderings are extremely cool and realistic. The trajectories of the pieces look very real... only glitch is, real things don't shatter in a zillion pieces.

So, somebody cue me in-because I'm in the business of practical commercial photography, much like this. I do pours, splashes, etc. Was this ALL CG, or is it heavily manipulated photoimagery (which would still be amazing). All these things- the lemons, the crystals- are they all from whole cloth, CGI? Because if they are, I may have to go back to cabinetmaking.

Another time this happened to me is when I saw Terminator Salvation. When we got out of the theater, someone said, "well at least they managed to get the governor to come out for a cameo". Although I think this video is even more real than that, as it would fool pretty much everyone.

It's got what is often missing in CGI, the things that in real life are not intentional... little particles in the air, dust or small drips of moisture... it's what makes it look so real (besides of course all the rest).
