back in the mid 60's i was at at fair in Depere Wis and met JO Ann. i was 11, my i was smitten with her every week when we'd watch Larence Welk. my parents made sure to mention that when she gave me her autograph on her photo. she then bent down and gave me a kiss on the cheek and a hug- i was in 11 yr old heaven lol.
I miss Tiny more than you can imagine, and to see this of the two of them on one piano, what a treasure! Thanks for posting this. Check out Tiny doing "Caldonia" on the Welk Show. It's available on YouTube also, and a rare gem!
Hehe - one minute ago I asked you to find some more JoAnn Castle - and now she's here in duett with Big Tiny! How many treasures are there left among your shellacks and vinyls and tapes?
I love this. Why has today's music lost such great music as this? I grew up in a very musical home and wouldn't trade it for any amount of money. Thanks for posting a great vid.
In my youth from the 1950s to the Disco Era the LAWRENCE WELK SHOW was a Saturday evening family favorite. I dreaded watching its saccharine sweetness in glorious Black & White and then in living COLOR sponsored by the likes of DODGE and GERITOL. Now, much older and wiser, I find myself tuning into PBS stations to catch reruns of the original broadcasts. CHAMPAGNE MUSIC! What a beautiful concept! Now I realize why television sets used to have a knob labeled "FINE TUNING!"

Brilliant, Brillaint, Brilliant.
I learnt this song from sheet music before I'd ever heard it played...... unfortunately I wasn't as good as what I then went on to hear either!! :(
This version is brilliant - Thanks for sharing.
