At 1:00, why was the rider whipping the horse? It looked to me he or she was pulling back on the reins; obviously the horse won't go forward but halt or back-up, why whip if it was the rider's fault? Some riders are just so unbelievable of what they do to their hoses.

most horses that u own that can do the pro show jumping are the ones you really only need to practice flat work on . trust me thats all you need to work on my trainer told me so. because she knows well. ya i see your point on the video but honestly horses choose to let us on their backs. and trust me what happens is their legs just can not do it anymore. thats what really happens.

@lovezzify um, that's at spruce meadows... u can't force a horse to do ANYTHING, the ones who don't wanna go down that, they don't go down the steep bank. trust me, i live in canada, they air everything from spruce meadows all the time on many channels, if mr or mrs horse doesn't wanna go, they don't. they get ASKED to do it, most try it out, but some don't, and the riders are amazing, they don't ask them much more than once. the horse himself is willing to try

those jumps are clearly to high for some of the horses if there back legs touch the jumps then the jumps are to high just nock it into your head people .pluse horses can break a leg going down a steap hill .i'd do small jumps in stead of those like six foot high ones.

@aquaspirit96 horses can break a leg cantering in the school if your unlucky those people are professional riders with amazing ability and feel thats why there ther riding the top horses in the top shows and your sat at a computer watching them. the most likly reason for knocking the poles would be things like incorrect striding, impulsion and so on or even the rider leaning too far at least the poles FALL when touched youd probably cry watching XC when it goes wrong
