NOT PICKUP DRIVER'S FAULT!

Gates should have been down, period.

They should NOT have been going up, indicating that no train was coming.

Light Rail operator should have seen the malfunction and slowed to arrive after the gates were down.

@robertgift there are no gate/they installed plenty of signs and signals in place to save money so instead of the trains just driving through the intersections with gates/they have to stop at red lights just like the traffic. the signs they installed are right next to the stop lights 3' by 3' with a large image of a train front and signs all over the poles meanin dont go through if you do be ready for the hospital/ they spent months telling people about them-TV-NEW PAPER- COMMUNITY MEETINGS EXT.

@shadowhellhound There are gates at the crossing at University (the white pick-up accident) but in this case, only a couple of weeks after the system opened, the gates malfunctioned and started to raise when this train was approaching. But most of the other accidents are caused by people disregarding red arrows and other red lights. Last year I was on the light rail when it hit an Orbit bus in Tempe that ran a red light! Even the bus drivers don't know how to drive!

Did white pickup driver think train was stopping at a stop just before the street to let off passengers? Often there are stops just before the street, but the crossing signals operate anyway and the train stops and does not cross the road.

Did the get the license plate of the vehicle which continued?

if you look at the first accident, after the arms go up, that truck is the only one that moved, everyone else didn't move

I have hours of personal footage from standing at the same intersection, there is tempe police officers, ambulance, fire, valley metro busses-workers,flash busses, and the list goes on from people that i filmed driving "under the arms as they were raising to let traffic proceed" so dont sit there and talk crap, why did the CEO of Valley metro go on camera on news channel 3 and admit there there was a malfunction on the trck with a sensor if it wasnt the systems fault,Light Rail=Pure negligence

"People can't drive" and "idiotic drivers" aren't new. It's a stupid cycle - new light rail system goes up and collisions follow which are followed by "stupid drivers" and such things. Stupid transit agencies need to build LESS LR near road alignments... still haven't figured it out.

When the arms are raising up at a train crossing does'nt that mean you are safe to proceed because thats what I thought before i was almost killed by the light-rail. What if the public knew that the Tempe Police never callled out any medical attention for us when I was obviously injured. Why did the Seargent and another officer make me pick up all the funiture that was ejected under threat of a littering ticket when the whole Tempe police force was on the accident scene. And not one EMT orFire

No "the arms raising up" does not mean your safe. The law is simple If the arms are in motion your supposed to wait until all the nice little lights and bells stop, then you can go. Sorry for your accident, could have happened to anyone, but its pretty plain to see that you jumped the gun on those gates. Good luck in court with all that video showing you breaking the law.
