Too many problems with this game. The roster is very short and what characters they did include were some pretty useless ass characters. Besides that the stages look bland ass hell and is almost monochromatic.

@syokusanagi they didn't release it on ps2 because SCEA didn't allow straight 2-d ports of arcade games unless it made some changes. Quite a few SNK fighting games refused to comply, so they didn't allow them. The KoF series is the only exception because they sold well.

Sony, since the PS2 era, won't release an entirely 2D game in North America on a disc unless it's part of a compilation. That's why here Metal Slug 4 & 5 was released as a set, and in Japan the games were released separately. Microsoft had no problem releasing an entirely 2D game by itself on the XBOX, thus SVC Chaos on was released in North America on Xbox and not PS2.

The game sprites are terrible because they developed the game during the time SNK was recovering from bankruptcy, and after they recovered many of their games that went to other companies (for example, The King of Fighters from Eolith), they didn't even made arranged tracks for the console release, they should do it know, with the graphic quality of XIII, I love Street Fighter characters, but I find it's gameplay slow.
I do really like SNK's fighting games that much. KOF2002 was fun when I play it occasionally with friends but never was really interested in it. SNK VS Capcom Chaos was bad for the limited roster and a really weird game system. SNK included too many Street FIghter2 characters with the limited slot.
This game is mainly for those who choose gameplay over all else in fighting games,that's why only a few like it,the masses will always have something bad to say about this game,because gameplay comes before all bullshit,long live SNK

The reason why the fighting game community in the US tends to shy away from SNK games is not generally because of lack of advertisement but because of lack of depth in their games. While their are many, many notable exceptions, when you tend to pump out games constantly you glut the market, and when you the notable games get washed up with many mediocre titles, it tends to give the company a bad rep.
@regionfree1 Dont get me wrong, I love SNK as a company and as far as fighting games go its pretty fun, way better then SFIII and IV but I perfer quality over quantity. For the longest time quantity was SNKs business goal.
@lavinfung I'm just baffled that you would think two rushed games such as SvC:Chaos and SS3 are considered the best 2D fighting games ever created. There are alot of competitors for that title, those two dont come even close.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Capcom should focus on their other fighters besides Street Fighter. SF is good, but Capcom's other games, like Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Power Stone, and the obscure Star Gladiator were all more enjoyable.

I must admit games like this are off the radar of most gamers,not because their bad or ok,snk does not have the adversting budget of capcom,SNK games tend to be geared toward the arcade crowd and fighters,capcom has a wider range of games in their company, I like both compaines,but i still think snk games are more for hardcore gamers then capcom's imo.or at least in the past 8 years or so

The reason why the fighting game community in the US tends to shy away from SNK games is not generally because of lack of advertisement but because of lack of depth in their games. While their are many, many notable exceptions, when you tend to pump out games constantly you glut the market, and when you the notable games get washed up with many mediocre titles, it tends to give the company a bad rep.

@regionfree1 Dont get me wrong, I love SNK as a company and as far as fighting games go its pretty fun, way better then SFIII and IV but I perfer quality over quantity. For the longest time quantity was SNKs business goal.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Capcom should focus on their other fighters besides Street Fighter. SF is good, but Capcom's other games, like Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Power Stone, and the obscure Star Gladiator were all more enjoyable.

listen '' kid '' i dont know what makes you think i dont know anything about king of fighters. i've played a lot of king of fighters. i know all about nests and the orochi saga. i used to kick my friends asses all the time with iori, terry, ryo, yuri yashiro,kim,mai,king, rugal & krizilid. but i only played them cuz my friends did. personally i've always thought that shit is LAME. ACCEPT the 2nd maximum impact. snk has never been better than capcom in any department. bottom line.
