  • Come on man. You can do better than that. You already got zbrush understanding- implent that with your regular hard surface modelling for detailing.

  • quite good

  • that was awesome. really really nice job on the intro i loved that part.

  • Spartan music? lol btw nice

  • Damn, You're incredibly good with modelling and cam angles. I drool at your awesomeness good sir.

  • i want to know how to do this 0:26 from here to the end can you do tutorial for me or send link tutorial i want to do car drive witch smoke.....

  • Sorry dude it's a little more complex than just whipping up a tutorial real quick and showing you the 'secret trick'. This isn't an emeek video or something... It took weeks to make that shot.

  • u made this in maya...????

  • 3ds Max. I use Maya also but not on this project.

  • That is the coolest video I have ever seen! (The S7 is my dream car!) I am only 13, but I am already trying to get into this type of stuff! BTW: What song is that?

  • Thanks. Nine Inch Nails - Just Like You Imagined

  • oh wow!! now that is sexy. how long did it take you?

  • Good question, I'm not really sure. Did the car a while back, took a few weeks to get these renders out.

  • truly amazing 20 minutes to render one frame, for me to render this would take me years on my duel core 3ghz, just guessing, but with the animation did you animate just the wheels and then parent the car body(and accessories) to the rear wheels?

  • Yup, and that's 20 minutes on an 8 core machine with 16GB of RAM in standard definition. HD or print resolution takes much longer.

I created a null object for the chassis which I parented the body and brake drums to. Then I parented the brake rotors to the drums, and then the wheels to the brake rotors.

It is actually not properly rigged and animated since the modeling of the underbody, axles and suspension are not completed yet. I kind of hacked it together to finish on time for the project.

  • true, in the end its worth it cause your renders look amazing, I am working on a DMC car(back to the future car) ATM, its going to have a drift scene. I am going to be animating it pretty much the same way by giving my rear axle as a whole continuous speed controlled rotation along its own Y axes(not globe axes) using an empty(same as a null I think) and then parenting it to a Empty and then animating the empty in the direction I want the drift to go.

  • Sweet

  • octacore hmm, you using a Skulltrail?

  • No, it's a Supermicro workstation board. Holds a lot more RAM and is more stable than Skulltrail :-)

  • Ah I see lol, you could use a octacore Mac, though would cost you around $23,400...though that is with dual 30" monitors (what I thought it would be fun lol)

  • Right, and I wouldn't get to build it myself. Boring.

  • to true, recently I have put together a new gaming system that will mostly just have me working on t3d programs and some of my art with the new Wacom tablet i want (the $2000) i figure since i prefer having a more hands on feel to my work, that would be best for me

  • The Wacom Cintiqs are amazing. Have you used one yet? I really like them.

  • no but Lars at Blindferret uses one for his art, such as LICD and LFG, when I say it I had to get it, its the same size as paper which is perfect for me

  • Many people do. There was a lab of them at my school. They are expensive, but once you use them, you realize they are well worth the price.

  • right now im using a Wiimote and handmade inferred pen for my drawing needs lol

  • Hahaha, Awesome! Does that work well? I've got just a regular Wacom tablet, but eventually I'll probably get a Cintiq.

  • Well enough if you have a good surface and some proper drawing tools, I'm still looking for one that I like so i can go out and buy a real copy.

  • Sweet.

  • Very well done... did you use Vray?

  • Thanks. Yes Vray and FumeFX.

  • fumeFX?

also, where did you get the blueprints?[if You used any].

  • FumeFX is a plugin for 3ds Max to simulate fire and smoke. I never did find blueprints for this car. I ended up using a front, side and top view of a toy car that someone had taken pictures of. I do have a couple blueprint sites I could send you though if you are interested.

  • thanks, I already use a decent blueprints site, I was just hoping for some more detailed blueprints than the ones I have at the moment...

  • hay how about a tutorial

  • Just Amazing!!

  • Even more awesome in HD, awesome job man.

  • Thanks.

  • whoa that looks realistic

  • More amazing stuff. Don't you ever get bored doing such excellent work? Wouldn't it be fun to just turn out something substandard just once?

  • This IS substandard; lumpy body panels, no antenna, no gas cap, no door key hole, no door handle, no bolt and rivets, terrible tires, wrong brake pad and calipers, NO INTERIOR, no engine, no suspension, not rigged properly for animation, no brake lights, improper lighting on smoke, etc etc etc.

I'm trying to get up to excellent, but I have a long way to go... :-)

  • Huh. Now that I realize how substandard this is, I'm going to have to rethink everything, Batman.

In the end, everything we do is substandard. We never get to the end of the path, do we? The point is to try for the impossible. Since we'll never get there, maybe you could just be a teeny bit satisfied that this is less substandard than 99.9999999999999% of the rest of the world?? No, of course you can't. I know.

  • Yes you know, because you are the same way.

  • Maybe. Just slightly.

  • Will you two stop? Substandard? Try for the impossible? You both set the standard for the entire planet, no need for existentialism. ahahaha

  • Oh, yah, because you're not a perfectionist at all.

  • inst this from 300?

  • Sort of. The music was used for the trailers for 300, but not in the movie.

  • Awesome animation! It's looks almost real and what's the song title?

  • Thanks. Just Like You Imagined.

  • AWESOME!

  • nice!

  • whats the blinking flickering on the wing mirror? I get that sometimes too. amazing stuff though totally.

  • It means the quality in the render was not set high enough, probably the antialiasing setting, but in this one it is also the global illumination. I was on a time crunch and had to balance quality and render time. Even with my 8 core machine these shots take 20min per frame to render.

  • The music really made the animation stand out. Excellent...

  • Thanks. I played with the music on this one for a while.

  • simply..... beautiful.....

  • My head exploded! That was fucking great!

  • Great Detail man

  • nice job!
