  • great job but if you're gonna take more then 1.5 sec for the next rep, its usually better to just stop and start over again in a couple hours

  • By doing these can you improve on your military style push ups? I can do 45 of these but only 15 military style. I also feel that doing these regular ones give me a better work out because I can go longer.

  • @shagy2k5 Well just because you can go longer doesnt mean its a better workout for example. its better to do 10 reps of your max weight. then 30 reps of a weight that you can do easy. Because the 10 really hard ones work your muscles more.

  • @jdbigkitty75 , Thanks dude! I am at my heaviest body weight atm, so I probably wouldn't break my own record. However I have made new vids of my gym lifts and couple of them are coming soon from a competition of different repetition exercises :)

    Maybe in the summer when I cut my weight a little bit, I will post the 100 push up proper form record ;)

  • You do not have to keep your head up, some say it gives you a straighter back which gives you better form, others say it causes kneck problems. Only thing I really worry about are my wrists. I don't think they were really made to take this kind of strain. Which is why I want to get the perfect push up handles. But I'm not fit enough to use them as they made push ups even harder than normal as you're going lower on each pushup.

    But this guy in the video looks strong as a horse, well done.

  • @Nick1975D if you want to prevent carpotunnel do push ups on your fists and youll work your way up to using the perfect push ups in no time.  id recommend doing them on soft carpet or even putting a pillow down to protect your knuckles.

  • Good work, but shouldn't that head be up looking straight ahead at all times? I hear that's the PROPER way to do pushups!

  • @BlacksAreBeautiful NO. It still counts as 87 pushups. It doesn't make sense that 17 wouldn't count.

  • @6Soldier5 You're right...that doesn't make sense. That's why I didn't say it. What I'm actually saying is, if he held his head up he would do less since it's more difficult.

  • @BlacksAreBeautiful No he wouldn't. It's not more or less difficult to do pushups with you facing forward or looking to the ground. I'm in the Army and they tell us when doing pushups to look straight forward. Only because looking at the ground for some people throws them off and they get to focused on whether or not they're going all the way down. That's why it's best to look forward. Do you get it now?

  • @6Soldier5 What Army are you in? The Canadian? PROPER US ARMY PUSHUPS requires you to lower yourself deep to where your chest is barely touching the ground and your arms are parallel with the ground. Both those are impossible to achieve if your head is HANGING down. Having your head hang down stops you from going all the way down, thus allowing you to do more. Do you GET IT now?

  • @BlacksAreBeautiful There's no need to be a smart ass! When I do pushups I go all the way down, bending my arms and then coming straight up making sure my arms are straight out in front of me the way I started. Exactly what you said is what I told you in the comment above. We're required to do pushups during our PT TEST with our heads facing forward otherwise they will not count it. FYI I'm in the US ARMY ! Wtf? Canada, really? smh.

A) For the camera B) So the soldier doesn't bust his lip by accident C) Because it's more difficult D) Looking at the ground will throw people off. There is only ONE logical reason for it! Stop trying to argue the point, because we both know the answer. So to bring it back to my original point, if this guy did it that way, I'm willing to bet he can't knock out 87. However, I still give him BIG credit for this display though.

  • @BlacksAreBeautiful lol. you think theyd rather have you bust your lip then break your neck if you fell and smashed your chin off the ground. what are you talking about your head prevents you from going all the way down in your other comment? this guys chest is clearing less than an inch from touching and his arms are out parallel with several inches between his head and the ground. the only thing i dont like about his form is that his arms arent far enough in for Marine standards.

  • @6Soldier5 What does the army PT test require you to do. I'm going in the Marines and should be going to boot camp February 7th. I'm just curious because the Marine PT test just has a max set of crunches, pull ups, and a 3 mile run.

  • @ShaiTheGift108 visable muscle isn't easy, and the taller you are the harder it is. you're still growing, you don't want to over work out and damage your body. any physical activity is good, everything you do makes you stronger

  • @t10h190 The taller you are the better it is to do WIDE ARM PUSHUPS. Those are catered more to tall people, such as myself. I'm 6'5" . I started off doing those now I can do all kinds of different ones. I Love doing Diamonds now.

  • @ssdaar If you're elbows are pointing outwards I believe it places more emphasis on you're chest. If elbows are by you're sides that should place more stress on you're triceps and maybe shoulders.

  • correct form is is arms are parallel to the ground when he is down before he can come up. most youtube vids people only go half way, anybody can do a lot of those types push ups. arms lock out when he comes up, body is in a straight line. chest touches the ground to ensure he is going down far enough. very good push ups

  • im starting to work out more now b/c its been to long. i do push ups everyday well try to. i do what he's doing anf then put my feet up on the stool and do them. I like it better that way. I know this is talking about push ups but Im just wondering I haven't bench press in four yrs and Im 21 now. I want to know how should i start back off like what to warm up with and how often should i do it till i can move up a little more?

  • @peleador1 Keep doing as many as you can everyday. :) Then in weeks you will se great results.

  • @peleador1 do 20 on monday, 21 on wed and 22 on fri. rest over weekend. then monday to 23, wed do 24, fri do 25. etc. you may want to change that days you do depending on your other workouts if you do them. the important thing to do is to reach failure (really push yourself) and ensure your muscles get enough rest, for pushups its about 2 days (for me anyway). Hope this helps let me know how many you can do in two months time!

    A full for me is not chest hitting ground, but your arms leveling out at 90 degrees and then locking out arms at top.

  • OMG! Thanks for ACTUALLY doing REAL pushups. For me, a pushup is chest to the floor, elbows locked at the top. Anything else just starts to get sloppier as fatigue sets in. Set a real standard and stick to it. Good work.

  • I appreciate your correct push-ups, however, it doesn't really matter how fast your doing them — you should keep the same speed the entire exercise, inhale when you go down and exhale when you push-up or vice-versa.

    Overall your in good shape, keep up the good work!
